From the first moment we made our reservation at Thirsty Falls we were amazed by the fantastic service we received. Less than 5 minutes after we inquired about availability we received a reply from Jenny. Less than 12 hours after we made the payment, we received a personal booking confirmation from Thirsty Falls itself. Together with the booking confirmation, we received a detailed list of everything we need to take with us to make our time there as comfortable as possible as well as a good description and a road map how to get there. On the day we checked in, we were warmly received and Jenny and her husband treated us very kindly every day we were there and asked if we were ok. They even gave suggestions on where to go and which restaurants had good food on the days we went out to explore Magaliesburg and Rustenburg. There was also a detailed list of all the tourist places in the area inside the cottage where we stayed, so we had no trouble with entertainment at all. The place was very neat and clean. Every morning someone came to clean our braai. And there was more than enough cutlery for 2 people. The absolute silence they maintained even though there was a cottage booked quite close to us was an absolute bonus. The scenery around the house was the cherry on the cake. We have nothing but good things to say about Thristy Falls or the peaceful owners. Would definitely recommend them anytime to anyone going to Rustenburg for a weekend or getaway holiday.

We were looking for a peaceful weekend getaway which was a short and easy drive from home (Randburg), and Thirsty Falls did not disappoint. We received a friendly welcome from Alan on arrival, and he and Jenny were very helpful and friendly throughout our stay, making sure we had everything we needed, while not being obtrusive, even substituting the unit we had originally booked with a similar one that offered a better view, simply because it had not been booked. We will certainly visit Thirsty Falls again in the near future, it is an ideal place to just go and soak up the tranquility and natural beauty of the Magaliesberg.

The only criticism we have is the condition of the last kilometer or two of the access road. Origins is very good value for money. We stayed in Geranium House. It was neat and had everything we needed to make self-catering as easy as possible. It was beautiful and peaceful and I recommend it to all couples in need of a blissful, relaxing getaway.

Alan and Jenny are excellent hosts. What a lovely environment! One is surrounded by rough vegetation and then of course there is the beautiful Magaliesberg - it would have been perfect if it wasn't for the rather busy R24 that one can hear quite clearly and see (but it does not bother). It's the perfect place to escape from the city's hustle and bustle. The cottage (we were in Geranium) was very neat and comfortable. The gravel road is quite bad in places, but if you take it slow it shouldn't be a problem. Our car has a very low ground clearance and we made it.

The bedroom was clean and the bed was firm and comfortable. The owners were good company, but they never invade your privacy.

Rosemary Cottage is convenient, clean and well equipped. We had a view of the mountain and the wonderful sunsets and enjoyed the hike up the mountain. The fireplace and spa bath were bonuses! It is said that rosemary helps to restore a positive outlook, get rids of stress and refreshes and rejuvenates. Well, Rosemary Cottage did just that!

"Too quiet. No TV or radio for when you want to relax indoors."

There is 3 km of very bad mountain road and its definitely not accessible by normal car - you need a SUV or Bakkie that is high off the ground. Please tell that to future customers. There is no sound to be heard from traffic or anything else. My husband was not happy with the deadly silence. We did not stay at all. We left half an hour after arrival. The road will not be accessible in the dark when you want to leave early to go to Pilansberg or any other place that you want to visit.

Even though there are a few units on the farm, we couldn't see any of them from Protea. It really gives the place a lovely secluded feel. Had a really nice stay and rested.

Lovely, peaceful weekend in beautiful surroundings. The small pool is great for younger children. The road is quite bad and you don't want to drive back and forth with an ordinary car to see sights outside the farm or to go out to eat. Suggest guests come with a 4x4.
