The bunk beds are custom built with lots of space. All our beds were built locally by the Institute for the Blind.
Guests have access to communal kitchen facilities, a shared living room with DStv, free Wi-Fi and a braai area.
The famous Route 62 starts the moment you step out your front door. A 5-minute walk gets you to shops and banks, or the train station where the Boland Blitz will ferry you to Cape Town for the day.
No alcohol is allowed on the premise.

42 guests' feedbackThere were smokers and the smoke was so overwhelming that I couldn't even open the window. After 12 hours at night there was still a lot of chatter in the kitchen. The rooms were neat, but may lack a dressing table and a chair.
Private, safe and quiet.
When I arrived there my booking was paid for by my company but I was told that there was no bed available for me and I would have to sleep in the lounge area with the dogs. This is unacceptable. No apologies from the establishment at all. The man there was actually just rude. I will never recommend this establishment to people.
Needs to have some more utensils in the kitchen. And some more chairs in the lounge area.
Place is ideally located, close to all shops.
Upon arrival I was met at the entrance of the place, I was received with utmost care and hospitality. Great client service especially the lady cleaning up in the morning.
Owner too busy to force other people to share a room.
The other people who were also there were lovely, even the people who checked us in were very friendly. Was very nice - Tolbos Backpackers will see me and my family soon.

The accommodation itself was not bad, there were enough bathrooms, but one was dirty. The other guests were talking loudly in the living room and every sound reflected right through the walls. Between 22:00 and 23:00 other people arrived and shouted at each other right across from our room. They were constantly making noise, playing music and talking loudly. After midnight I informed the contact person and he asked them to be more gentle. The music went down but the more they drank, the more noise they made! At 4 o'clock in the morning I went to ask them to please be quiet because we have been trying to sleep all night. They made even louder noises for another hour and a half. So we slept from 5:30 until someone came to put in the toilet rolls, I didn't look at the time but we had to get up at 8:00.
We arrived late and the owner forwarded instructions via WhatsApp, which I appreciated. One of the other guests kindly helped us with a few questions.
I would definitely recommend Tolbos. You are welcomed and shown everything. Excellent value for money.
Traveling with a large student group and Tolbos Backpackers were very accommodating to our needs. We also really enjoyed Hector's company and he was kind enough to take us on a walk through Worcester, during our short stay, which was fantastic.
Before our arrival, Hector had already let us know that they were expecting us. The directions were also good to get there despite the after hours arrival. Thanks were also expressed the next morning for mutual kindness and courtesy.

The service was good and we had a warm welcome, friendly. I will definitely go back. I like the peace and it's safe so I'll recommend it to anyone.
Hektor is very friendly and updated my accommodation without making me pay extra.
If you're looking for a relaxing night on a quality bed, don't look further. Affordable, close to station and central town.
On arrival, Hector the manager very nice, place clean, but could have been better. Place is nice and big, but pool very small. Our group was very disappointed. We had to go to the public swimming pool, but we could see that Renate is redoing the place, because the toilet is very nice, the rooms are nice and big. Renate is a very nice person. If she puts in a bigger pool, she'll see us again for sure. Thank you Renate!
Tolbos is located in a quiet area and the little time we had left, we could sleep peacefully and relax.
Tolbos Backpackers was exactly what we required. We will definitely take that type of accommodation again when needed. The booking agent was very helpful and very accommodating which was much appreciated. The location was close to the chess tournament venue. The person who met us when we arrived made everything run smooth and was so friendly. Thank you to everyone that contributed.
The owners are very nice and helpful and we felt very safe. The establishment is very clean and all the facilities are available. Will definitely stay there again. Good value for money.
Very walkable distance from train station (Shosholoza and Metro) and combitaxis station, food shops and a couple of restaurants. But streets can look quite unsafe around food shops. Bathrooms and kitchen quite well furnished. Big fridge, no towels.

Very clean town with a lot to see in the area.
The owner is very friendly and that made the place for us. For the good price one should not expect too much and the kitchen is not as well equipped for self-catering as one would hope, but it is clean, friendly and value for money.
It's a nice place to be, but it's still in process. So don't expect a 3 star or 4 star, just appreciate what you get because it's not expensive either.
We did not get the room I booked and paid for. The manager seemed to think that we would be satisfied sleeping in the house next door. He gave us a room one of his helpers and their kids slept in. We were also told that we needed to go next door to use the bathroom and toilet. We took our belongings and left.
Arrangements or hooks for clothes and towels are needed in the bathroom.
The backpacker is basic accommodation, would stay there again. A few things to take note of: take own towels, if your going to do your own cateting take own pots nd pans, also own mug (not many in cupboard). No mirrors in bathrooms. Staff pleasant, friendly and helpful.

No kitchen utensils such as pots and pans. Acceptable for the price, but would rather go for a more expensive option in the future.
Maybe I misunderstood what the quality of a "backpackers" should be.
The pictures do not look like the place at all. The place is pathetic. It's not clean or tidy and I wouldn't advise anyone to ever stay there!

Lovely place, lovely people. The only problem is that there is no safe parking behind gates for our vehicle.
The room we stayed in: the carpets are dirty/stained. The room appeard to be vacuumed, but the carpets need some serious steamcleaning. The bedding was clean but faded and dull looking - un-inviting. There was a cupboard removed from the wall in the room and left unpainted. There is only one toilet. The toilet door has no key. There was a note on the door which was handwritten with a child's wax crayon - "Knock before you enter". One did not feel at ease using the toilet. The owner was very friendly and talkative. I felt that there is not enough crockery. I felt uncomfortable looking for what I needed in the kitchen because all the owners groceries etc. is also kept in the cupboards. I was quite uncomfortable as it appears that one is 'nosy' by opening all the cupboards inadvertently. The security measures are adequate. The only protection in the pool is the loose blue cover on top. At night, this is risky as there is no warning that it is a pool and people could mistakingly fall into/onto it.
Not enough blankets in winter.
It was difficult to find the accommodation as we do not know Worcester well, but it is very neat and very clean. Will come back again.
