Ivy at reception was great. The restaurant staff nimble and friendly. What a pleasant bunch of people. The owner came to say hello and have a friendly chat. I will definitely stay there again.
Unfriendly owners. Cute lady in the eating and drinking place. She only works there, but is very welcoming. Tents good. Space inside, worn bedding and uncomfortable, old bed. Loin box in room. Couch is good as well as fridge and microwave. Road up there from entrance is extremely poor and unmaintained. Two vehicles cannot pass each other at all. It is clearly a farm that the owners are trying to convert into a resort. It still needs a lot of love and attention. Ablution facilities are very clean. It was quite a surprise.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a tent and it was very comfortable. Our only complaint was that every night there was music playing (by guests and at the bar/restaurant), which disturbed the rest quite a bit.
Nice cycling / walking routes, grateful for upgrade to suites, at no extra cost. Lovely surprise of vouchers for restaurant and bar.
The staff are very friendly. They kept the jacuzzi warm for us all weekend. There is a bar on the premises which stays open late and is operating every day. They have quart beers and a pool table. There were bats staying on our roof which squeaked all night. Between bats and bar, the stay was not peaceful. There is a walking path but it is overgrown in the beginning. Units are completely self-catering.
We were received by Mpho and he showed us everything in detail and gave us a very nice welcome. The tents were neatly clean and well equipped. They even made extra room for my 9 year old daughter. The resort was very peaceful and we slept incredibly well. The dirt road on the way there is a bit rough for a car, but with the bakkie it is quite okay. Thank you for a lovely evening of tranquility and fun. The best of course is the nice firewood and barbecue under the avocado pear trees. Beautiful place and friendly service. Thank you Mpho for the awesome reception and quick service.

Thank you to Mpho for accommodating us and upgrading us from the log cabin 4 which had too many stairs to the suite. Thoroughly enjoyed the food at the restaurant and the tour of the silk farm.
Ivy was very helpful with our reception and put us in a tent closer to ablution. Didn't know what I discussed was so far. And when we wanted to buy avocado pears, they were delivered to the tent very quickly.

As warned before our arrival, there is very little to no cell phone reception in the rooms and on the premises but it was just what was needed! To unplug and switch off from social media, telephone calls and text messages!
Quiet amazing calm.
This was the disappointment of the holiday. 1 room with 5 beds with a small kitchen and the sinks of the bathroom in the room. You want to shower after showering to feel clean, so dirty is the shower and shower curtain. Surprised we didn't pick up any diseases. stay away Refuse to use your own liquor in the self-catering unit, but have no variety available at the bar.
Fairly priced. Beautiful surroundings, very beautiful nature. Separated from the "ordinary, general day-to-day life". Delicious food and appropriate menu for the environment and occasion. Ideal for a family with children who want to experience a farm environment; many activities and good distractions to relax: swimming, trampoline, hiking trails, mountain bike trail, large lawns.
Only for the power failure on the first night which was not so pleasant, our ice melted and could not buy variety at the restaurant with power failure, although the food was nice.

What a beautiful farm. If you need to rest it is the perfect place to visit. It is a peaceful setting with lots of privacy. You can relax next to the pool or soak your tired body in your own private Jacuzzi. The bar and restaurant have a great atmosphere with friendly staff. We had breakfast at the restaurant and we really enjoyed it. We received a R300 voucher that we used for dinner. The staff is friendly and the owner checked in a few times to make sure we had everything we needed. The cabin has all the basics you need for self-catering.
Firstly a huge thanks to Piet for showing us the cycling route. The staff are awesome. From the silk tour to the garden staff. We enjoyed the peace and quiet so much we added a extra day to our stay. We will most definitely return.

It was a special experience to drive through the pine plantations to Tsanana. The cabins are located in an avocado pear orchard which makes the atmosphere very peaceful and relaxed. Fantastic.
After a long day on the warm Mpumalanga road, I walked into my room which was already pretty cool from the air conditioning and there was a container of water with ice in the fridge that made my day. Food from the restaurant was good and the managers of the farm are very friendly and helpful.

Tsanana Log Cabins is an interesting excursion to definitely do with learning about silkworms, and the goods that are offered for sale. The homestead, which was divided into rooms, was clean and tidy, the layout of bathrooms not as desired. The staff very friendly and helpful, the food served was a hit.

My husband and I were looking for a home away from home where we could experience peace and quiet. That's exactly what we got. It was so nice that my husband and I booked there again for July 20th. This time we take family together.
Accommodation is clean and tidy at Mulberry Lane Suites. Might improve the view from the suites by cutting away some of the forest in front of it.
The service was very good and staff were very pleasant, much better than we expected will visit again anytime.

Tents are really well equipped, cozy and clean. The price we paid, rather, indicated something far more basic. Incredibly peaceful atmosphere and friendly staff. The bathrooms may be too little if all 7 tents are booked. I want to go again.
We had a great stay. Everything was 100%, but the towels should be replaced.
We had a very nice stay. The house was very clean and we had enjoyed the privacy. Had a bit of a shock at the price of the satin tour, but it was worth it in the end. But for that price you'd think you get something after the tour. I can recommend this place.
We stayed there as a family and enjoyed it. The owner made a lot of effort the night to give us an unforgettable firefly experience on the farm. It was wonderful.

It's quiet, clean, peaceful area with outstanding client service. The farm is perfect for a weekend getaway. The shops and activities are nearby.
The restaurant's service is not good. Breakfast is barely a snack. Other accommodations include a full breakfast at the rate charged for the deluxe units. Very little to do. We lost a whole night's sleep because of other guests who disobeyed all the rules. The management did not address it as desired either. No cell phone reception in the rooms. The scenery is breathtaking! Birdsong is a much better alarm clock than any other way of waking up. The staff is super friendly and helpful. After the problem experienced above, the owner returned our money (much more than expected), and also treated us to the delicious farm products. A very tempting offer to take on a later occasion was also made to us. It is highly appreciated. The location in Mpumalanga is excellent with almost all attractions within driving distance.
It's my second time here and already impressed, affordable and very cute. As a contract worker, I'm usually alone, so it can get quite quiet without mobile phone, TV or internet. But would still book here again!

Not enough storage space for everything.
We arrived late afternoon and the managers waited for us at reception. These people are very friendly and made us feel at home. We were accompanied to our tent and everything was explained to us. Any queries were handled by the managers and they made us feel at home. The managers even told us about activities in the area and that made our stay that much better. I am very happy with the facilities and service. These people go out of their way to make life easy for their guests and I will book the suites again.
It was surprisingly nice and comfortable. As well as a beautiful view and atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay there again. It's also central between various attractions.
It was a beautiful and quiet place and the weather cooperated nicely! It was amazing to be surrounded by all the natural forest! I highly recommend it if you want to get away from the busy city life!
Wow, a break away from the chaos of one's daily life. The coolness of the avo trees created a peaceful atmosphere with the safari tents so placed between them. The modern camping experience was like manna from heaven. My child is 1 year old and restless. The pool was definitely a good pastime as well as the soft grasses he could run around on. Definitely on my top 10 list.

We had a great time here and it's a neat little place, but there were a few things that made our time there completely sour. We got there and were shown to reception and were then told we had to pay a R300 cash key deposit, if they had let us know about it earlier we would have drawn cash but had nothing with us, we then went to withdraw the cash the next day and didn't pay until late afternoon when we returned, where I also had to look for the receptionist again. The next day when we want to check out, then we are in a hurry because we have a long way ahead of us, then the receptionist said we have to wait first, they want to look in the room to make sure everything is there. The cleaning lady went to check and somewhere we accidentally misplaced one of the butter knives. I then also had to look and saw that there was a knife not there. In the end they took R20 from our key deposit to now cover the value of the knife. I just feel they can tell you when you check in that there is a checklist that you can look at and check for yourself if everything is ever there, because we didn't count the knives when we got into the house, and if we misplaced the knife, he must have fallen on the grass when we barbecued, which they must have found in the end. It was just funny that not one owner came to greet us. But despite all those things, I will say it is a very nice place, away from the town, very peaceful.

Very cute place, would definitely stay there again if in the area. Just feel cut off from the world with no TV, radio, cell phone signal or internet. But definitely recommendable, very nice room!
We had a friendly welcome. The room was big and has everything you need. The only downside is the toilet and pipes that made a noise right through the night. But overall, nice overnight accommodation!
Excellent place to stay. Next time (and there will definitely be a next time) I would like to do the "silk tour" before we can sit in that "spa-bath" and enjoy the clean air. Would also recommend taking the additional options for breakfast and dinner. The service was excellent and I was greeted by name when I arrived. The turn off was a little difficult, but following the GPS and then being able to read signs, you will find the place first time. There was no cell phone signal for MTN, but I didn't even try the WiFi option, after we started chatting and enjoying the outdoors (because there is no signal). Thank you Tsanana!

I had a great holiday. Place is hidden from road. There is tranquillity and you rest. I came back refreshed, with new lease of life. Once in a while, we need to drive away from towns and cities. And go back to basics, sit and talk as family, with no disruption and distraction of television and cell phones. Tsanana provides that. I want to lastly thank Tsanana's helpful and friendly staff. Silk tours was my favourite.

Mulberry Lane Suites is excellent! The rooms are well equipped and the area is beautiful. What really stood out was the incredible service we enjoyed. Tswarelo welcomed us and went out of his way to make us feel special and welcome. In the room he left us a bottle of red wine and fruit basket! Jeffrey, in the restaurant, has a wonderful personality and is warm and welcoming.

I would like to first mention that we are not difficult clients to please in terms of accommodation, especially when paying a fair price for self-catering accommodation. In the Graskop area you do not really need much, because the entire area is breathtakingly beautiful. However, we were very disappointed with the service and facilities offered by Tsanana Log Cabins & Mulberry Lane Suites. We were provided with GPS coordinates to get to the farm, which were incorrect. As a result we drove through four informal settlements and got lost completely, which led to us driving around for four hours and only arriving at the farm at 20:30. Although we were contacted by a Piet around 19:00 asking whether we were still coming, he was still not able to provide an address/ correct GPS coordinates and only indicated a locator on the R533, which is very difficult to see at night. So we arrived very late and were only taken to the unit by the night guard, who did not provide any further information about the unit/facilities, etc. When we came in we immediately noticed that the "Jacuzzi" that was advertised on their site was in fact a bath with jets in, wherein only one person can fit. For a romantic destination I hardly feel that only one person wants to sit outside in a bathtub. Furthermore, it was advertised as a fully stocked kitchen which is also totally untrue. There was not a chopping board or even deep oven dishes, and cheap utensils. The shower in the bathroom does not have a door or curtain to close it with, leading to the water running into the bathroom when showering. The pressure of the shower head is poor, and the shower provides limited privacy as the other side is glass (which can be seen from the room), which would be a problem for friends visiting. In the morning when we went to meet the person at reception, Gerda, she was so rude that we would have left if we had not already pay for the weekend. When we told her about the GPS coordinates being completely wrong, she simply said it does not work, and did not apologize. We were not welcomed or informed of the offerings of the farm. We were therefore left feeling unhappy and not certain who to talk to about it, because we never met any management or someone who came to welcome us or apologize about us not finding the farm. To top everything up, when we checked out we were told that the wood we had used, which stood on the porch was not free and that we had to pay R20 for it. We were also not told of this, and one wonders why they would put something there that cannot be used. So unfortunately were were very disappointed, my recommendation would be that they either advertise the unit as is, drastically improve the offerings or otherwise stick to what they know - silk farming. I would like to actually be reimbursed, but would just be glad if other future visitors know what to expect (or not to).
All reason why I can't go back again is the cell phone signals which are extremely weak. I have to be available 24 hours a day for my job.
We had a very nice stay. Was a bit disappointed when we noticed the rooms were built together. We could hear our neighbors talking the whole time. The hot tub on the porch was lovely.
For a relaxing and enjoyable stay, friendly and efficient staff, you will have to go far to beat Tsanana.

The reception is very helpful. The suites are not equipped as desired for self-catering. The renovation work is not very nicely finished. All that bothered was the lack of privacy with suites close together. The Jacuzzi is pleasant but again not private enough. The rest of the suite was very well equipped. The air conditioner is an asset as are the duvet and pillows. The walking tour through the silkworm farm was informative and educational.
We really enjoyed the weekend there. The accommodation was first class, excellent for a romantic getaway!
Although the unit is large, there are many beds. The kitchen work space is very small. The stairs are very narrow, and there are only bathrooms downstairs. The view, Jacuzzi and the restaurant are positive features.

Although we arrived a bit early they very accommodating towards us. They were very helpful in places to see and do close by. The Jacuzzi was most welcoming after a long day of site seeing. Over all was a lovely stay.

There are 4 Luxury Suites all air-conditioned and offer a truly idyllic and indulgent experience. Each suite has a private patio with a spa bath and braai area and looks out onto the indigenous forests. To ensure a romantic breakaway, children are not allowed in the suites, but they are most welcome at the Log Cabins. Units are serviced daily and stocked with tea, coffee, creamer, sugar and sweetener, as well as basic toiletries. Towels are supplied.
There are 3 Log Cabins which offer a more rustic, family feel and are tastefully furnished with a 'Touch of Africa' décor. The cabins cater for groups of 2 to 11 people. All the cabins are air-conditioned. Log Cabin 1 and the Friends & Family Log Cabin have Jacuzzis while Log Cabin 4 has an outside spa bath. All the log cabins have private braai areas and is fully equipped for self-catering. In addition to all crockery and cutlery, all the kitchens have a stove, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, toaster and kettle. The Cabins are not serviced and towels are not supplied. They are stocked with tea, coffee, creamer, sugar, sweetener and basic toiletries for arrival, but not stocked up daily. To ensure a complete getaway, there is no TV in the rooms.
Memory Lane offers 6 self-catering units, all with private entrances and en-suite bathrooms in the historic 120-year-old farmhouse. Experience old world charm with all the comforts of modern day living. Our Memory Lane Suites are the only units on the farm with DStv.
There is a communal Lapa area with swimming pool, trampoline, and braai area, as well as a Boma for long nights around the fire with friends and family. Being situated on the only working silk farm in South Africa, a guided silk tour is offered.
There is a 3 km hiking trail in natural woods and a Helipad. The perfect base from where to explore the beautiful area. The Phabeni Gate into the Kruger National Park is only 45 km away or take the Panorama Scenic Route with God's Window, Burke's Luck Potholes, Blyde River Canyon, spectacular waterfalls, and more.
