The lodge offers accommodation facilities ranging from self-catering units to luxury rooms. At the main lodge there is a bar area overlooking a swimming pool and Lapa. This area has breath-taking views of the Maluti Mountain range.
The game lodge also offers a wedding and conference venue. This modern venue hall can cater up to 160 wedding guests and 120 guests for a conference. There are nature hikes around the farm, where guests can choose between 2 hiking trails of either 18 kilometers and or 9 kilometers, which offers excellent views.
There are several attractions in and around the area of Fouriesburg. Guests can visit the beautiful town of Clarens, called 'the jewel of the Free State' and can be described as a big open planned shopping mall for all art lovers. Golden Gate offers breath-taking views, horse riding and hosts over 100 bird species. Guest can also visit the Basotho Cultural Village.
The Katse Dam is not far from the lodge and is the second largest dam in Africa. The dam is part of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project and is truly a breathtaking site to see. At the Oxbow ski resort situated in Lesotho guests can even try ice climbing and or skiing, but take note that a passport is needed for entry. It was the most enjoyable experience and the view was just indescribably beautiful. Everyone was incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome right away. The rooms were nice and tidy. The highlight was the picnic at the caves, and the incredibly beautiful views during the game drive.
If your desire is to get away from the city noise, you can't do better than Uitzicht Private Game Reserve and Lodge. Quiet, blissful, picturesque. Whether you just want to sit on your balcony and stare at the mountains and plains, or climb the mountain itself, you won't be disappointed. The adventurous can go for a walk up to the mountain slopes where San drawings can be seen and where you can barbecue and have a picnic. The owners and workers of the lodge are friendly and very helpful.

The view is to dream of and we had a privilege to spend time in the little church. This together with 'amazing' people makes this a special experience. Thank you Wynand and Kikie for your kindness. We will definitely visit again.
We really enjoyed the short time, one night, and Brian was not only a wonderful host and manager, but can cook delicious food. He has a great passion for nature and showing animals to people, rather than hunting them. Wynand and his family are wonderful people and true salt of the earth, who make you feel very at ease. We can't find nice hiking trails, and that's a shame because I think the hunt impacts such a decision.
We were 8 friends who went to Clarens' beer festival and decided to spend the night at Uitzicht. Best decision ever, what a place. Awesome people who care and look after you as guests. Accommodation was everything you would expect and more. Amazing view and the game drive through the lodge was awesome.

Incredibly nice, peaceful, lovely view, friendly people. Lovely walk on farm and the fireplace in unit extra special. Enough wood was provided. Slept wonderfully cuddly. I would definitely recommend the place and it is close to Clarens if you might want to make a quick trip there.

Everyone was most welcoming and friendly. There was an electrical problem in our allocated room so we were upgraded to the beautiful honeymoon suite. The views were beautiful and the dinner and breakfast were top class.

The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Bathroom is clean and the stoepie offers a comfortable place to hang out with a beautiful view.
The bed and room were great. We slept very well. The shampoo/soap container was empty and used up. Previous people's old soap was still in the bathroom. Opened milk that had already been used was in the fridge and not enough for coffee. The website says you have to book for dinner, but can get breakfast for R90 extra. They couldn't help us with breakfast at all because we didn't "book". For a place that is so far out of town with the condition of the road they should provide for breakfast.
It's a beautiful place. Very well located. It's clean, tidy and safe. The accommodation is clean, beautiful and everything you need is there. The service is excellent and friendly. It's a must-stay place. The game drive is also a must. It's over beautifully.
The most incredible view of the Eastern Free State. The whole area creates a very good impression, the grass is neatly cut and clean. Very spacious, clean and well equipped rooms. The new owners are friendly and treat you like royalty. The food was great!

Delicious breakfast, the best bedding, fireplace in the room and the most beautiful view. We drove ourselves for wildlife viewing and saw the most beautiful sunrise and sunset. It was my husband's birthday and Kiki surprised him with a bottle of wine and Nougat.

As the name says, the nature and steps in a wonderful nature. Magda was a very good hostess and even made us a nice dinner. We want to go again.

A fantastic experience! If you're looking for an escape from the city, and a safe place to enjoy star-gazing and bush walks, then this is perfect. From the warm reception, and the excellent meals, to the magnificent view of the bush and the Lesotho mountains in the distance, every part of the stay was amazing.

Clarens was fully booked and Uitzicht was fortunately the only place that could help, 50 km from Clarens it was actually convenient to stay there and in the drive to Clarens. Magda had a cancellation and we upgrade from bachelor to 2 sleeper with no extra costs.
It was a surprise weekend and aunt Magda and her team went out of their way to make the weekend special. So hospitable. Delicious dinner and breakfast! Definitely value for money. The owners, Magda and Hannes, were very kind and friendly. There are hiking trails for those that want to be more active. They have accommodation for nearly 80 people but we were very lucky to be the only guests!

Many thanks to Magda and her team for making our stay extra special. We were upgraded to a bigger and better unit at no cost for which we are very grateful. The scenery is particularly beautiful and we went walking and driving around daily with the lodge as our base where we could find peace and quiet. The lodge is close to all the attractions. We will definitely go back again!

We were not impressed at all with the house we stayed in and felt we paid a lot of money to sleep in the Wildebees units, but then the owner moved us to a house to help another group, 4 km up the mountain and away from the lodge. He promised that we would have a beautiful view (there was not) and that we would have enough space for the children. It felt like we were staying in a cage with thick bars. The property is not maintained, so there is no good grass for the children. And there were no outside furniture or chairs, so we had to visit the house. What we booked and paid for would have been much better. And the marketing and promises of the newly refurbished house were false!
Everything was neat and in its place upon arrival. Friendly staff. Will go again.
We arrived at Uitzight late on the Friday evening and were well welcomed by Dawid. First impressions were good - nice accommodation with some cute rabbits hopping around the farm. However, it wasn't until the next morning, in the daylight, when we could take in how beautiful the view really is. The rain that came down created an atmosphere that gave one extra appreciation for the view. And of course the fireplace in the house made everything even better. However, what made the accommodation stand out for us was the excellent service. We had vehicle problems and it was extraordinary to see how Hannes and Dawid went out of their way to help us when we needed it. It's not everyday that people who don't know you at all will offer to help like Hannes and Dawid. For this reason, I would definitely recommend the accommodation to anyone who would like to sleep well if they come to Fouriesburg.

We used the accommodation for a wedding on a farm nearby. The location was perfect for us. It was neat and the welcome was friendly.
Uitzight is a piece of heaven on earth the most incredible sunset and sunrise. When you arrive you already feel like family and when you leave you know you are coming back, the breakfast and dinner were excellent and very tasty and definitely worth it and very reasonable. Each room is incredibly neat and clean and the beds ensure that you sleep wonderfully. All problem we encountered was, the visit was hopelessly too short, next time we will definitely visit longer. Magda and Hannes and staff you are excellent and very special people.

My spouse and I checked in at the Uitzight Game Lodge for one night's stay on 28/4/2018 after a day's tour from Paris via Ficksburg to Fouriesburg. The lodge is exceptionally neat. Located high on the mountain, the view to the east over the valleys is something to cherish. Sunrise with the fog in the lowlands creates a unique opportunity for beautiful photos. The accommodation is spacious and clean. There were only 2 couples for dinner and the owner Magda prepared the food herself. Comfort food like from your mother's kitchen. Breakfast was more of the same. Hannes and Magda make you feel at home and nothing is too much trouble. It's just a shame that we couldn't hang around longer, because this is one of those places where you won't be short of atmosphere and conviviality. From the booking that went smoothly to saying goodbye when we left it was a positive experience.
Really enjoyed the weekend. The silence is fantastic. Best of all, there is no TV. You can have a nice chat again.

Me, my husband, my mother, and our 2 children stayed at Uitzicht for 4 nights. The location is absolutely picturesque! The views are breathtakingly beautiful! The cottages and rooms are excellently furnished with everything you could need, and Magda and her team provide extras such as ice and wood on request. The service was very prompt and friendly and we felt very welcome. The pool is lovely. Fouriesburg and Clarens are within driving distance if you feel like walking around, shopping or eating out. Everything is very clean and tidy and it is excellent value for money. Game drives can also be arranged at a dirt cheap price. We will definitely go back again and I would recommend it to anyone - rest, peace and beauty!

Uitzicht Game Lodge will always have our hearts. Outstanding views of the countryside and the area, great hospitality from the owners and very tidy premises and facilities. This place is made for getaways.
A stunning environment where you can stay for a few days. Directions weren't very accurate. The last turn off to the guesthouse op the farm road is to the left, not to the right as indicated.
Unfortunately only stayed one night, to make it worthwhile you should preferably have a 2x4 or 4x4 as transport if you want to do the sightseeing yourself. Everything was well appointed and really enjoyed the hospitality. Definitely recommended.
We had a wonderful time relaxing at Uitzicht Game Lodge and exploring the surrounding area in Fouriesburg and Ficksburg. The chalets are comfortable and well equipped with tasteful decor. We particularly enjoyed the indoor barbecue and the delicious venison pie served for dinner by the hostess. We just want to mention that there were no mirrors in the bathrooms, which made it especially difficult for the men to shave. So I would definitely recommend that mirrors should be installed there.

You are amazing people and the food from the kitchen was very delicious. Will go again any day! Everything is so clean and pretty. The view, wind, mist, sun, nature and accommodation was nice. The road to the property is in a bad condition. Hannes and Magda are very hospitable. Would suggest adding coffee and tea facilities for the mornings.

Location is high on a hill with a stunning view. Lovely swimming pool with same view. Everything was lovely and clean and in good condition. Weather was very hot, should be a good hiking destination when a bit cooler.

My husband did the longer mountain bike trail. It's not single track, but jeep track. It's a 4x4 route, yet quite steep, climbing 400 m in 14 km. You climb the first 200 m in the first 2 km. He loved it. There are enough farm roads for wife and kids. Madga went through a lot of trouble to accommodate our young son's food finickiness.

We will definitely use the accommodation again, especially the possible hunters option and as such I can confidently recommend it for large groups we were a family group of ten - small children to teenagers and everyone had a great stay. Magda and Hannes received us so kindly - it felt as if we were at home, we felt so at home! They immediately showed all the rooms and facilities available, the fire in the braai rooms was lit immediately, it was delicious! Everything was beautifully clean and tidy, rooms are beautiful! Although we weren't there for the hunting season, Hannes took us out on a game drive on Sunday morning! Thank you very much for a wonderful stay at their Game Lodge!

Please note that there is a gravel road leading to the establishment. Guests are required to enquire about the condition of the road, before arrival, as it could be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.
Breakfast is available at an additional cost per person. Breakfasts and dinners must be booked on confirmation of the accommodation booking.
Please note the hunting season is from May till July in the time period guests will not be allowed to hike. In the winter months, guests are also not allowed to make outside fires due to fire regulations in the area.
Dinner and supper can be arranged.
Own swimming towels are compulsory. No bedding may be used outside the units.
Prior arrangements can be made for a braai by the swimming pool, cutlery, grid, table, and chairs will be provided.
Braai packs and side dishes, wood, ice can be catered for, however, it must be arranged at least 2 days before arrival.
Please ensure beforehand that your vehicle is competent to reach De Zolder House and Rondavel Self-catering as it is situated in the mountain, 4 km from the main lodge.

Description
The Honeymoon Suite (Non-Self-catering) is suited to accommodate 2 guests and comprises a king-size bed and a bathroom fitted with a shower and a bath. Other facilities include a kettle, microwave, bar fridge, and a verandah.
The lodge offers accommodation facilities ranging from self-catering units to luxury rooms. At the main lodge there is a bar area overlooking a swimming pool and Lapa. This area has breath-taking views of the Maluti Mountain range.
The game lodge also offers a wedding and conference venue. This modern venue hall can cater up to 160 wedding guests and 120 guests for a conference. There are nature hikes around the farm, where guests can choose between 2 hiking trails of either 18 kilometers and or 9 kilometers, which offers excellent views.
There are several attractions in and around the area of Fouriesburg. Guests can visit the beautiful town of Clarens, called 'the jewel of the Free State' and can be described as a big open planned shopping mall for all art lovers. Golden Gate offers breath-taking views, horse riding and hosts over 100 bird species. Guest can also visit the Basotho Cultural Village.
The Katse Dam is not far from the lodge and is the second largest dam in Africa. The dam is part of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project and is truly a breathtaking site to see. At the Oxbow ski resort situated in Lesotho guests can even try ice climbing and or skiing, but take note that a passport is needed for entry. There are also several golf- and bowls courses in and around the area of Fouriesburg.
