If you are after modern chic, then this is not your spot. If you are after great hospitality, comfort and value for money, then this is your place. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

We were so warmly welcomed and assisted with our luggage. The room is very spacious and neat with a lovely view of the outside pool. The breakfast was delicious and provided a wide variety of options. Will definitely recommend this guesthouse to anyone.
The host and his wife are lovely people with the biggest hearts. It felt like home and the breakfast was very tasty. Really a place that I would recommend to anyone who needs to do business in that direction or visit one of the nearby schools.
Area is not great, but close to a major business.
Stayed over at Upper Houghton Guesthouse due to us running the Soweto Marathon and using it as a breakaway weekend. Marcus went absolutely out of his way to make our stay as comfortable and convenient as possible. Breakfast was divine and just loved the warm atmosphere and meeting the family. Thank you, Marcus, for spoiling us. I am so glad we got to meet you and your beautiful princess Hannah. We will definitely contact you again if we need a place to stay.
We had a very pleasant stay. Marcus is an absolute gem. It is an old but beautiful house inside. The garden needs a bit of tidying up but other than that we had a lovely stay and an excellent Breakfast. If you are looking for silence and tranquility, that is the perfect place to be!

The house and yard were slightly neglected, but it was one of our best places to stay. So clean and homely. The hospitality and warmth of the host was incredible. Really a great place to stay.
The host and his family are wonderful. They went out of their way to make us feel at home in what was a rather traumatic time for us.
