The stay was wonderful. The silence absolutely does it for me and my little wife. The unit is sufficient for 2 adults and 2 children, but may become cramped if one does not go out to the business area. The bathroom with a bath/shower and the toilet can also be a bit of a problem if there are men and women and one is in the shower/bath and someone needs to use the toilet.

The solar system with battery backup is extremely convenient and a huge bonus! The streets to get to the accommodation are dirt, very dusty and in poor condition! At least luckily only about 1.5 km.

The view from the veranda is beautiful and the quiet, peaceful surroundings fit us like a glove. It was pleasant to meet the owner, Bastiaan, in person. He came to find out if anything in the unit needed attention, and also if we were satisfied and had everything we needed. The bathroom is neat but adequate, although people with limited mobility should take care getting in and out of the bath. Bastiaan is clearly a perfectionist! Everything in the unit is extremely neatly finished and in good working order. The solar system helped a lot in avoiding the inconvenience of load shedding to a large extent, as well as a gas duster which was useful during a very long and unexpected power outage. We hope to visit Clarens again soon and would love to stay at Views.

It is very neat and well maintained. Didn't even notice when it was "load shedding" because it was connected to a battery and solar power. Very convenient. Will definitely recommend it. The only negative perhaps in relation to Clarens, are their roads in the neighborhood. Poor dirt road with bits of tar in between.
Views was the perfect place for a quick getaway from Johannesburg. Reasonably priced with a very clean and well equipped unit. The view is fantastic and dead quiet around you. A place where you can truly relax and find rest for your soul.
Room is painfully neat with everything needed. Place is spacious for two adults, with two children it will get cramped. The dish barbecue on the balcony is a winner! Since one sometimes wants to lie in bed and read, the addition of reading lights would be very welcome. We have stayed in several places in Clarens and have now found the place we will return to.

These days, the most beautiful and best holiday accommodation can be spoiled when guests are suddenly left in the dark due to load shedding. Views promises that guests still have electricity during load shedding and this contributes greatly to making the stay there an enjoyable experience. The WiFi is also strong and reliable and nothing can spoil the breathtaking view of the sandstone cliffs from Views' veranda.

Everything was clean and tidy and working properly in the unit. Due to solar power and backup batteries, this guest house is load shedding free! There is also sufficient water supply while continuous WiFi and DStv kept the teenagers well occupied. When you step out of the unit you are in open nature and at the foot of the mountains. Only problem - if there is load shedding, the water supply is also cut off. Sufficient provision has been made for alternative energy (light, heat, stove) but little provision for "no water".

The accommodation is practical and large enough for a family. The owners have made an effort to provide for load shedding with a gas stove, boiler, lights etc. The load shedding probably contributed to the fluctuating WiFi. We will go back again.

There's 2 blocks of dirt road to get to it, but it's not bad. All in all, a fantastic experience. I recommend Views to anyone! Will definitely stay here again.

The advertisement on the website is misleading - there is a master bedroom, but the second room with two single beds is part of the kitchen/dining area - the advertisement gives the impression of two rooms. We are two older ladies and then one of us had to sleep in the living area without any privacy.

This beautiful secluded little cottage is great for a weekend away to recharge and relax. The owner is very friendly, helpful and easy going. I will definitely be staying here again and would recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting Clarens for a quiet weekend away. It's situated right next to the Clarens nature reserve too, so you can go for some nice walks if you fancy! The view over Clarens is also spectacular, especially in the morning with a nice cup of coffee.
Perfectly tidy and secure unit in a prime location in Clarens. More than a self-catering apartment with a Weber outside, a wood stove in the room and plenty of everything in the compact but well equipped kitchen. Other amenities that include WiFi and DStv made our stay so comfortable. Then the view, sunset and sunrise make it very special. We are definitely going to stay in the Views again, if the opportunity arises.

The unit is equipped with everything you need. So many hiking trails just out the door to choose from. We enjoyed enjoying the sunrise early in the morning with a cup of coffee and enjoying the tranquility and beautiful view until late at night. Wow, wow, wow. I can't wait to go again. Views truly exceeded our expectations.
Awesome little self catering unit. No oven but there is a fridge with a hot plates for cooking. A quick 5 min drive to the central square. Definite value for money.

Very nice place to stay with the most beautiful view over Clarens and the mountains. Had a great barbecue and sat on the porch and just enjoyed the view. Fireplace was an absolute bonus is the cold weather. Will definitely book the unit again.

Thank you to Tobie for a wonderful place to stay, as well as your hospitality by helping with anything. We really had everything we needed to sleep comfortably, make good food, be warm and even watch the Springboks game. The highlight for me was the view. Beautiful mountains that we could see better from the side of town and on a hill than in other places in town. The park with its hiking trails, which is just across the street, is wonderfully quiet and so inviting. If there's anything I need to point out that might be a problem for someone, it's that you share a wall with people on one side. It may be disturbing for people without children if there are small children next door. This was not a problem for us at all, as there were no children with the people next to us. We were the people with a child, but at least an older child, so I don't believe we would bother anyone.
Accommodation was neat. Hospitality top quality. Close to everything. Have a nice time. Will definitely use Views again.

The guest house is located high up and has a beautiful view over the village of Clarens and mountains! The reserve is just behind the house where you can enjoy walking, jogging or mountain biking. The unit is neat. I especially enjoyed the wood duster and it made the unit cozily warm! Will definitely visit Views again.

Unit is very small, the shower is in the bath and there is no place to socialise. Wi-Fi did not work. Could log in but nothing happened! Even after we called all the numbers no one answered and we were without Wi-Fi the whole weekend.
Godly tranquility and incredible vistas. This is a place for sitting on the stoep and enjoying views. This is not a place for being in bed and watching TV. Climb in your car and drive, drive or ride your bike, you're really free. The cottage is cosy and just the place for a rest. Neat and clean with all the basic stuff. I want to go again and again to the same cottage with Clarens that has so much to do.
Roads just a bit bad to get to the top of the mountain if the car is low, so vans can easily move there. All worth it for the beautiful views!

From the time we arrived to our departure we met the friendly and helpful Bastiaan and his wife. We were 3 adults and Views stole our hearts. The apartment was neat and we were going to find fault. I wish there were more stars to mark because I would have marked it. We will definitely go back to Views.
Perfect spot for a couple or even a young family. The view is exceptional, and you feel like you are at the highest point in Clarens. Even a great view when lying in bed in the mornings. The unit was very neat and comfortable. You are far away from the city centre to not hear the hustle and bustle. Right by the starting point of the numerous hiking trails.

Views 1 is marketed as a 2-bedroom unit for 4 adults. Please note there is no space for 4 people to socialize except on the patio. The fireplace is in the bedroom and there are only 2 upright chairs to sit in front of the fireplace. (Other people should sit on the bed). The sliding door to the veranda is also in this room, so the people staying in the other bedroom must walk through this bedroom all the time to sit outside. The kitchen is very small. It may be suitable for quick heating in the microwave, but certainly not 100% self-catering. Also no seating for 4 people at the kitchen table. Furthermore, the shower is inside the bath. The glass partition also makes the taps unattainable unless one first gets inside. So my 73-year-old mother struggled to bathe or shower. Since the units are connected, one hears when the neighbors watch TV, talk to each other, and so on. The unit is also attached to the main house where the owners live. Furthermore, the security gate did not lock. At least the unit was clean and the beds comfortable. I would only recommend this for a family with small children (who can already bath themselves) and if you just want to make breakfast yourself.

The accommodation was very neat and in a very quiet part of town. I would recommend that you just add a fan for the warmer days, but as it is so safe, you can sleep with the doors open. The view from the veranda is breathtaking and I will spend a weekend there and I must say that the owners are very friendly, helpful and considerate. Load shedding is also no problem as there is already a stove, kettle and light that can work without power. It was really an amazing weekend and a great place to stay.
We could note have hope for better quality apart from the beautiful view and nice place. Thank you to Bastiaan and Alta who helped us with load-shedding. The garden is beautiful and everything is neat and clean.

Situated highly, it offers beautiful views - mountains and village. Hosts are very friendly and cordial and we were welcomed with champagne because I mentioned it is our wedding anniversary. Pleasant place very comfortable and tastefully equipped. The closest hiking trail in mountains starts right next to the house. Very quiet and calm environment. Clarence, of course, has his own charm. Many interesting shops, art galleries, beer breweries, many eateries, etc. Will definitely go again.
It's a very nice place, it was a plus that we could bring our pets along. The place is nicely furnished, very clean and has everything you need. The bed sleeps like a dream and the spot has the most beautiful view to look at. It is very safe and quiet.

The owner of the guest house is also an old Pretorianer and very friendly. He once again made me think deeply about early retirement and Clarens offers one the ideal atmosphere to come and reflect.

Neat accommodation and comfortable. The two bedroom unit is perfect for two people. Customer service is good. The grill is a Weber grill, not a gas grill. The view over the mountains is beautiful. Linen is clean and tidy. The unit is compact. The wood stove in the bedroom is very effective in heating the unit.

Unit 1 sleeps 4 guests, has a separate main bedroom with a double bed and twin beds in the second room. Here is room for 2 adults with 2 children or 3 adults.
Unit 2 is an open-plan unit with a queen-size bed and a bunk bed. It sleeps 2 adults and 2 children or 3 adults.
Each of the units has a kitchen that is equipped with a 2-plate stove, a microwave, a fridge, as well as, tea-and-coffee-making facilities, and a dining area. The units are all equipped with TVs with DStv, a fireplace and wood.
Each unit has a wood fireplace for the cold winter nights and wood is provided.
