We were welcomed by a very friendly owner, who personally showed us around the venue. The unit is definitely 5-star, as everything you could think of was available. This included coffee, tea, sugar, and milk. The bathrooms and showers were equipped with body wash, hand lotion, and even ablution freshener. The interior of the venue is professionally done, and the first impression is that of being in an interior decorating magazine; it is an absolutely stunning venue. The view of the Outeniqua mountain from the venue was an absolute pleasure to wake up to, or have a sundowner while the sun set. The mist on the mountain allows for stunning nature photos and the surroundings were absolutely blissful, being quiet and peaceful. Just the place to relax and switch off from the city buzz. The venue is situated close to everything, to the supermarkets, antique shops; all the beaches on the Garden Route are within a maximum 20-45 minute drive. Absolutely 7 stars.

Spacious and nice kitchen and bathroom, good bed and very safe parking.
Very nice stay. Sorry the unit is attached to the main house, with only a door in between. Doesn't help for privacy, but we got over it. Safe place with lock up garage which helps a lot. A few things are lacking in the kitchen, but we also overcame them.
We had a beautiful stay in a beautiful environment and our hostess, Magda, her daughter, and grandson were all welcoming, kind people. I would recommend their place to anyone who looks for some peace and quiet. 10/5.
Villa Maria has become my "home away from home" whenever I travel to George. From the wonderful and friendly hostess Magda, who always makes one feel extremely welcome, to the flatlet that has everything you need. The flatlet has two rooms, a separate bathroom and shower, a kitchen, dining room, and lounge. It is neatly kept and beautifully decorated with various artworks. The kitchen is well set up with sufficient space and has a gas stove with all the necessary utensils. The guest house is conveniently situated near the mall (6 minutes) for any shopping or restaurants. Being a news junkie, I also loved the fact that they had the full DSTV package, which allowed me to relax and watch the different news channels. This is my second stay at Villa Maria, and I will always return due to the excellent hospitality, service, and stay at the Villa. Villa Maria comes highly recommended.

We booked on short notice but were welcomed with such warm hearts. The place is equipped with such luxury items it felt like a 5-star hotel. It was peaceful and quiet and just what we needed after being on the road all day. The owner was a pleasure to meet, she settled us in and left us to enjoy the rest of the evening. She checked in on us via WhatsApp which was great. She has immaculate taste and will definitely see us again. A hidden gem with the most beautiful views of the Outeniqua Mountains.
Breathtaking location, unpleasant owner's family unfriendly and not greeting, noisy (owners having a domestic situation very loudly. The owner was informative and cordial. Yet, at times it felt that we had absolutely no privacy. The rooms both had cobwebs and the master bedroom was not en suite. I am an active traveler and love exploring guest houses, this, by far was one of my most unpleasant stays. Upon our departure on Sunday morning, our unit was being cleaned while we were still packing! Who does that? I would give the location (with the backdrop of the Katjies dam) a full 100%. As for the rest?
Magda is a warm, friendly person and she goes the extra mile for her guests. She made us pancakes on a rainy day. She personally looks after the place and keeps it in excellent condition. We got so much more for what we paid for. I will definitely recommend Villa Maria over and over again.

What an absolutely wonderful two night stay we had at Villa Maria. We were warmly welcomed via "whatsapp" a week before we arrived at the Cottage, as well as on the day by Magda - our hostess. She even made sure that we were provided with the loadshedding schedule for the time we stayed at the cottage. The cottage is spacious, spotlessly clean and exquisitely decorated with modern furniture and beautiful artworks in all rooms. The cottage contains everything you can think of - to make it your "home away from home" experience. From sufficient towels, crockery, cutlery, coffee/tea/rusks, cotton and needle/cleaning aids, iron and ironing board, emergency lights for loadshedding/fresh milk in the fridge - all were on hand to make our stay memorable. If you thought of something - the cottage already had it in supply!. The cottage is a 5-10 minute drive from the Garden Route Mall and is also situated near various restaurants. We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Villa Maria and will definitely be back whenever we visit the Eden District again. Villa Maria comes highly recommended whether you are on business or on vacation.

Shower facilities lovely with hot water and beds are heavenly. It's hospitable, friendly, pleasant, helpful, delicious to welcome us. There is nothing to complain about. The view over the mountains is beautiful. We were two pensioners and the hostess helped us with our luggage. A secure lock up garage on arrival and she was available by phone at all times.

Personal, warm welcome from Magda the owner. We felt so at home, because her place is so homely furnished that I was so sorry I didn't book it longer. There is literally everything you need and more. People, if you pass by, please sleep. over there. The best thing is to sit outside in the beautiful garden with a cup of coffee in the morning and hear the birds. Villa Maria is an incredibly nicely furnished place with everything you need. It feels luxurious, is nice and spacious and comfortable and so neat and clean. The view from the deck is breathtaking. It feels like living in a forest. The peace and quiet makes one forget all one's worries. The environment itself is very beautiful and we felt very safe. Magda is an excellent hostess. We were kindly received and immediately felt at home. She was happy to share information such as nice places to eat Do yourself a favor and go eat at Kafe Serefé! We were given the option for early check in which I really appreciated. Villa Maria will exceed all your expectations and spoil you with silence you didn't think you needed. I highly recommend this cute little place.

Secure parking, beautiful area with forest scene on your front porch. Nicely centrally located, but still so quiet and peaceful that it doesn't feel like you're in the village area at all. As a runner, the access to nice jogging and cycling routes around the corner was a big plus. The unit was very neat and fully equipped.

We found the owner (Magda) very pleasant, and this contributed a lot to a comfortable and pleasant weekend. We were given the option for earlier check-in and later check-out which of course we welcomed. The apartment was very neat and comfortable, beds slept great. Although we did not cook in the unit, it is equipped with everything needed for self-catering. There is also a braai area directly outside the unit with a table and easy chairs. The garden is beautifully maintained and it was very nice to sit outside early in the morning and listen to the birdsong. Breathtaking view of the mountains! I would definitely recommend them and would be happy to use them again in the future.

The apartment is painfully neat with everything of top quality. The location was perfect for us, only 4 minutes from the town center but dead quiet where we stayed. The area is very beautiful with hiking trails 500 meters from the apartment. The rooms are big and really very nice. The apartment has everything one needs. We will come again next year.
