We had the best stay at Sonbesie and will definitely be back! The cabin is beautifully decorated and is neat and comfortable. Julie is an amazing hostess who takes great time and care to convey all necessary information to us. There was no cupboard to put my food in, I had to put it on the table for the whole holiday. One of the couches needed a good clean, it was dirty with stains. The oven needed a good clean as only two of the gas burners worked, the others were clogged with grease. There were lots of things stored under the bed which I felt was unsafe, if a snake got in you wouldn't know it was there and it made me very nervous, there were lizards under the couches, so if they got in, I'm sure a snake could? We could not go into the pool as there were workers working daily on the roof of a building the owners were having built right next to our accommodation. Let me just say this is the very first time I have written anything negative about a place we have holidayed at. I only hope my comments are worked on!

Absolute piece of heaven on earth! The cottage is in a quiet part of the forest, very private and very cozy place to hang out everywhere. The veranda has beautiful views and the swimming pool provided a wonderful cooling off after a hot day. The air conditioning inside the cottage is a big bonus in the hot summer weather? We had a great time here and totally relaxed! Julia the owner makes so much effort to make guests feel at home. Definitely worth staying longer!

Vuurvliegie is definitely a must if you just want to rest and be quiet. We were overwhelmed by the game that come to eat and stand around at home. Enjoyed the fire until late evening and seeing the sun rise again while drinking coffee on the stoep. A real piece of paradise.

I can highly recommend Firefly anytime. It's a place where you can go to have a good rest. The place is very well equipped, very clean and more than expected. The wildlife is also something special. The family of warthogs that came to look for food every dusk, the herd of giraffes that walked past, the herd of zebras that came to eat carrots, the herd of blue wildebeest, the single diver that came in every evening and the ostrich that every now and then the house came to lie down. Do yourself a favor and book a holiday with Vuurvliegie, you won't be disappointed.

The service was excellent from the first moment we got there to the last minute before we drove off. The cottage contains everything you need. It is spotless. One feels very safe with the anti-theft and alarm, as well as the assistance service, which fortunately we did not need. It is a luxury treehouse in the sky which allowed us to view many animals from the balcony. I just want to share the bit of information, that the stairs up to the treehouse are not suitable for people who have difficulty climbing stairs. Other than that there are no complaints! Will definitely go again!
Had a great stay, place is incredibly beautiful and everything you need is there. Swimming pool was definitely a winner, especially when we got there and the temperature was 47°C. Would definitely recommend and definitely stay there again.

We had a terrific stay at Vuurvliegie, the place is very well equipped and nature is in abundance. Johan contacted us every day to make sure we got up and told us regularly if there were animals at the river. Every morning we started with a coffee while looking out over the Crocodile River, and every evening ended with warthogs, blouwildebeeste and kudu's closer than 1 m from us. I will make use of Vuurvliegie anytime.

It was fantastically delicious. Viervliegie is a neat and romantic place, just right for 2 people. Warthogs came to visit the house as well as an ostrich and a kid. We enjoyed being so close to the animals. Will definitely recommend to others.
The owner made us feel very much at home and walked us into a neat, well-equipped home. The house lives up to the name Firefly. Looks beautiful at night and the braai area is just the best. Grilled every night and hung out with the night owls who came to eat the food for about 20 minutes. Cycled the border wire and saw, among other things, lions, elephants, buffaloes and various species of antelope. An experience and can recommend the place with the greatest peace of mind.

We had an incredibly nice holiday in a beautiful and well-equipped place. Firefly had everything we could possibly need, and so much more. We made so many lifelong memories at firefly. We were also close to the Kruger National Park, and could see the full big five there. We will never forget how we ran away from zebras and how we fed kudus from our veranda. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Vuurvliegie. The house is in the middle of the forest and wild animals visited us while we were having fun by the fire. The evening looks like a blanket with sparkling stars and you hear the roar of lions echoing in the silence. The unit is fairytale-like and romantic. The decor is soft and blends in so beautifully with nature. The place was thoroughly equipped with everything needed to spend the weekend. We will definitely want to go back again. Hi, as former Miss Tourism SA 2016 I found it a privilege to stay at Vuurvliegie. Beautiful and very neat in the hut itself. Everything in its place and you don't need anything more. Vuurvliegie takes you to another dream world so that you don't even want to go home. The outdoor shower is just lovely for cooling off after a day in the sun and if it's too cold to swim. The place is so romantic and the European bath makes you feel like you're in Europe! I recommend Vuurvliegie. It was great. We didn't see many game but still enjoyed staying there.
We really enjoyed our stay at Vuurvliegie. It's a really beautiful place which basically provides everything except that you have to take your own food along. Beautiful furniture. The 4-poster bed, beautiful bath, candles etc. offer a romantic atmosphere. The braai area outside with the small pool of drinking water for the animals is beautiful. We also really enjoyed the shower outside and the steps down to the river. Johan was a great host and constantly made sure that we had everything we needed. We really appreciated it.
