Wagtail Cottage has everything you need for a getaway. There is ample space to relax, make meals, watch a movie, and have a great sleep (the bed was very comfortable). The cottage is located a short walk into town where you'll be spoilt for choice in regards to restaurants and cafes. One last thing: the temperature was 35°C while we stayed, and the cottage did heat up a little during the day but cooled down well at night. With the help of the fan, it was comfortable to sleep.

We had a wonderful experience at Wagtail Cottage. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making us feel right at home. The room and amenities were cosy, providing everything necessary for a comfortable stay. The location is conveniently close to town, within walking distance. The showers were warm, and having a dishwasher, coffee pod machine, and microwave in the room added to the convenience. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful sleep. We also had the pleasure of meeting a beautiful and affectionate dog. We enjoyed a delightful braai in the garden, making it a perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. We are definitely planning to return and appreciate the outstanding hospitality. Thank you!

"Fine for a one nighter."

Wagtail Cottage is fine for a one-night stay, not suitable for someone who cannot climb stairs. The stairs are very steep. I would suggest that any amenities they provide be of a decent brand and complete. Found an old facecloth in the shower.

The town is very tree-rich, there is a lot of water and very nice gardens at residential houses.

My husband and I didn't need more. Everything we needed was there.

The accommodation is neat and clean, everything you need is at your disposal. Almost like, the TV has no channels to watch the rugby, for example. As Thomas said when we arrived, there is a TV but he doesn't know what channels are available. If you don't remember your Netflix password you are stranded. What's a bit funny is that the bathroom sink is in the kitchen area, there is a dishwasher available but you don't use it to wash 2 plates, a water wastage exercise in our opinion. A possible major problem is the amount of power plugs placed on one supply, this can be a fire hazard with the thatched roof, there is a small fire extinguisher available. The water supply to the shower is very erratic, if you turn on the hot water the heat is there immediately (no pain with that) but as soon as you open the cold tap the hot water disappears and it is freezing cold, then you have to play with the taps to get hot water again, once again one wastes water (a big problem for us). The accommodation is going to need a lick or two of paint, above the "kitchen" the paint is peeling a lot. Doors, door frame and burglar bars will need painting, maybe a small canopy above the entrance door especially if it rains, then also make the entrance to the premises a bit flatter especially for cars that are low - it rubs underneath. The accommodation is close enough to places to eat and can be walked to. Here is als constructive criticism and can be easily corrected. I know that Wagtail Cottage is still very new and we believe we are the 7th guests, but are definitely things to look out for in the future.

Had a minor issue with the hot water that was sorted out within minutes of me reporting the matter to my host!
