26 guests' feedbackHost was good. Although didn't meet in person. House had heaters and heated blankets which were nice. We were asked to wash up after ourselves, which was a first. The cleaning fee was for linen only apparently. Though, surely one cleans the house before new guests? Lots of dust, but understandable due to the number of trinkets. Not a place for a family with kids. There was a full bone china tea set on the coffee table. Great if you're 80, but not with a family. The decor can be pared down a lot and decor can consider a traveler more appropriately.
The house is so nicely done up and anything you think you might need is available. Amenities were well laid out. We had a great time there. Would definitely like to stay longer and explore the area a bit. Our host also recommended seeing the Hennie Steyn bridge at sunset! What an experience! Thank you very much.
My 2nd time at Wild Olive Cottage and a nice experience every time. Can definitely recommend for an overnight stop or a few days to explore town and surroundings.
A beautifully restored, interesting and delightful old cottage. Very well equipped, clean and with a modern bathroom added on (two rooms have their own “en suite” washbasin and toilet). The cottage has a nice little stoep with a Weber braai (came in useful during a rainstorm), and a lovely garden with an outdoor braai. A minor issue: although there is a modern flat-screen TV, there was no TV signal (might have been a temporary problem due to the weather); however, there is a DVD player with quite a nice selection of DVD movies to choose from. A suggestion to Tim Zunckel, the owner: the email with instructions to access the cottage should preferably be sent a couple of days prior to the arrival date, as one usually does not read email while traveling to the place of accommodation.
Overnight and wash are sufficient.

Wild Olive Cottage is one of the most comfortable places to stay in Bethulie and very well equipped. The owner is friendly and helpful and has paid attention to the smallest detail. We can recommend the accommodation at any time.
Wild Olive is a beautiful cottage. Very well furnished. Only downside was that there were an awful lot of mosquitoes and even with the mosquito repellant cream I struggled. Would suggest mosquito plugs.
What a beautiful place. Nice clean, tidy, and value for money! The detail and love that goes into the place makes it that much more special. Will stay longer next time.
Clean and cosy with everything you need. Our only issue was the heat, even with the fans on the cottage did not cool down at night. Would strongly recommend the owners invest in a small aircon. We loved our time there.

Accommodation is comfortable and well equipped, bedrooms are spacious with an additional toilet and sink in the room (screened off). There are an awful lot of decorative items and animal skins. The personalization of the cottage is beautiful but it felt to me like I was entering someone else's space.
We were conditionally impressed with the place's cleanliness and atmosphere.
