Woodlands was a pleasant surprise. The place is well equipped and centrally located. The hosts have made an effort to create beautiful gardens in which to relax. There is even a walking path in the forest on the premises. Inside Owl's Nest there were little things that make you feel welcome and all information is easily available. Parking is available behind a gate. Will definitely recommend them.
Such a lovely spot, with so much for the kids to do. The rooms are spacious, beautifully appointed and feel like a home away from home. We explored the trail this time and just loved it.
Not only the two-bed apartment but the garden and the whole site were well cared for with so much attention to detail. The beds were amazingly comfortable. We felt very welcomed and at home and had everything and more than we needed. A lovely, relaxing break. So lovely to hear the birds and frogs and just be in nature.

Much more than I expected. So clean and tidy. Very comfortable stay and everything you need is there and more. The chickens and Reacher just welcomed us with open arms. Reacher was the highlight. The place is so nicely decorated and they clean the braai every day. Would definitely stay here again!
We were warmly welcomed with something to drink, beautiful plants on the table as well as chocolates. It was great to walk in there and be welcomed. The room is spacious with modern decor. Every detail is perfect. The kitchen is well equipped and has everything we needed. The walking route in the forest is very beautiful and we went for a walk on it often. The view from the veranda is wonderful and creates a peaceful atmosphere. It was a lovely getaway!
Ensure a nice peaceful home. Kids found it a bit boring, not much to do for big kids apart from visiting Knysna itself.
The cottage has all the modern needs. From the moment you step in, you are greeted with a fresh and welcoming scent and a comfortable space. Further, despite being in close proximity to other guests, I felt quite private and peaceful. I cannot imagine the work that has gone into creating this oasis. From the walking paths to the well-managed garden around the cottages. Thank you for an incredible stay. We could tell that the owners have worked incredibly hard to create this incredible space and make every effort to help make your stay a wonderful one.

Woodlands Self-Catering is everything it advertises and more. Als is furnished with so much style and personal detail and Julie and Ettiene's passion and love for their place is evident in every aspect. The unit (Protea Suite) is beautiful and the gardens and paths are specially laid out. It was wonderfully peaceful and the scenery is breathtaking. We had absolute privacy - might have wanted to meet our hosts ourselves but Reacher the dog was there to welcome us without ever being a bother. He was the perfect host. It was the ideal place to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary. Far enough from the hustle and bustle of the city and in nature, but also close enough to Knysna and Sedgefield and restaurants and businesses for shopping. Definitely a place I would recommend to anyone.
The owners have put a lot of effort into making the accommodation as equipped as possible. We really appreciated the load shedding schedule, the lamp that works when the power is off and all the other little things that were thought of. The location is perfect - you feel like you are part of nature, yet close to the city, which makes it very convenient.
The view was breathtaking, the space was super clean and the fine detail did not go unnoticeable. This place get a perfect score! The photos do not give it real credit. Much more beautiful in real life!
We can see the owners of Woodlands take pride in what they do. Woodlands is located in one of the most beautiful areas, so our view from our balcony was incredibly beautiful. The walking route through the forest makes you feel like you are somewhere in a fairy tale world. Our unit was one of the best ever and the owners sure didn't skimp here. Everything is of high quality and extremely neat. Woodlands was ideal for our children (8 and 6 years respectively) with a nice play area and the owners' children as holiday friends. Thank you very much for the incredibly beautiful place where we stay. We hope to see you again in the future.
We had such a lovely stay in the nest. The owners are extremely friendly and allowed us to stay past check-out time because our flight was only at night. The little house is styled beautifully. Loved every part. The kitchen is stocked with everything that one might need. Firewood and firelighters were also provided on both days. Our only concern was the steps, as they are not easily climbable, our suggestion would be to add a full railing if possible. But they do warn one about them when booking. There is WiFi available, if you open the door or stand outside it does provide a good signal. Thank you for the lovely stay.
We would recommend Woodlands anytime! From arrival, when Raecher met us at the gate and made sure we got to our room safely, to time to go home, it was a wonderful experience. The room we stayed in was extremely neat, and well equipped with everything you would need. They are wonderfully located, not too far from Knysna, and there are also the most beautiful views from your room. We had a great stay and will definitely visit them again!

The cottage was superb with lots of plants and flowers decorating the rooms. It is very well appointed and very comfortable. The view is lovely and the gardens superbly manicured. We could not find fault with it and would recommend it to anyone.

We enjoyed our visit at Woodlands so much! We have always dreamed about what it must be like to live in a "tiny house" and this exceeded all our expectations! The interior decoration is top notch. It is so nice, neat and clean - and has everything you need. It is peaceful and we really enjoyed the hiking trail - beautiful! We were sad to leave but will definitely be back.
It seldom happens that the actual destination lives up to the reputation created online. From the first interaction with Julie to the moment of our departure, was peace & tranquillity at its best. The forest walk was absolutely beautiful and added some fun & excitement to our stay. The Suite was spotless and the décor was modern & cleverly designed. The garden is beautiful and the forest & starry night sky view that we experienced from the Suite, was absolutely mesmerising. Woodlands, you exceeded all of my expectations, I will see you again soon!

We loved our stay at woodlands. The nest is an inspiration to any home builders and decor lovers. The garden and forest are breathtaking, this was the perfect break on our long journey from JHB to CPT. Thank you for accommodating our little doggie as well.
Ideal for just refueling
Really lovely place to stay. They're really made the garden so stunning, the aesthetic of the rooms are peaceful and green. They use gas and rain water, really wonderful to be so eco friendly. The garden also has a forest trail which was really nice for a morning walk. Well situated to get a break from the business of the city, and close enough to head into town to get what you need. Our hosts were very accommodating.
This weekend was one of the best memories we have made in our marriage journey. It was beautiful and so clean! Even with the rain on 2 of the days the weekend nothing could spoil our time at Woodlands. If it rains you just enjoy sitting on your bed still overlooking the forest. When we arrived it was sunny and we had a good time just relaxing on the balcony in the afternoon sun, whilst listening to the different birds. It was so quiet, even with all the houses booked we never heard anyone which added to the relaxation. The house is spotless and so comfortable and have everything you need for a getaway. Even though it is a few minutes outside of Knysna, round 10 minutes max, I would recommend Woodlands to everyone! Wish I could send all my friends there! Thanks again to Julie for a beautiful weekend!
Beautiful place, spotlessly clean with thoughtful touches like milk in the fridge and chocs on the bed. Our 4-year-old son particularly enjoyed the playhouse, trampoline, and seeing the chicken coop! Would definitely recommend it!
We loved every second at Woodlands. It is tranquil, so much attention to detail went into the units. There is a lovely play area for the kids, we saw a Loerie as well. The owners are lovely people and made us feel right at home. The farm dog is so sweet and went before us on the walking trail. Love all the succulents in and around the units! The units are super clean, welcoming, everything you need (so many places don't have nice knives to cut food - love the Victorinox), the decor, the throws for when sitting outside, the abundance of towels and toilet paper (lol), lovely bed. I saw my first ever shooting star from the balcony. Really an amazing place and we will visit again with extended family.
Lovely stay with quietness and many birds tweeting away. Felt rested and enjoyed the brief visits of the owner's dog, Reacher. Bed was a little uncomfortable, but other than that, a wonderful stay.

Woodlands was a great place to break away from city life, quiet, peaceful and private. We had a lovely stay.
Upon our arrival, we were kindly received by the boss and his dog. Place is fully and nicely equipped. We can recommend it with great confidence.
Friendly reception. Unit was modern and definitely value for money. Beautiful view of the gorge from the veranda - even more beautiful with a glass of wine in hand. A short 5 min drive to the Jubilee Creek Nature Reserve (SANParks). Definitely worth a walk in the forest there.

Mr Bruwer and I stayed at Woodlands for 2 nights. It was our honeymoon. It was the best destination of our whole tour. If you like cacti, style and an incredible view, Woodlands is for you. Home away from home. Not even to mention the tour guide, very helpful! Fantastic place!
