We really appreciated how quickly and easily we were helped, but unfortunately, we hardly slept due to the people next door's TV being on the whole night, and our room was quite run down. For the price, I understand not to expect a lot, but at least a proper duvet and a deck that's not falling apart. The bed is very uncomfortable, and the linen can definitely be upgraded. It feels a bit run down.
The stay for the 1 night was okay, wasn't too happy but I was grateful to just have a bed to lay my head down.

This is my second stay at Wykeham. I don't have any complaints besides the fact that parking is a bit tight, especially if you are driving a big SUV. But other than that, they never disappointed me. Friendly staff and no issues when booking in.

The room was not as pictured, the mattresses will have to be looked at, very soft. Some blinds are not in working condition, the back garden could really have been tidied up, it's like there is no garden maintenance.

It was so nice of Christa to pass on the load shedding schedule and she even gave all arrangements should we check in and also let us know where we would find open restaurants during load shedding. It was very nice and even that we can use the gas stove in the kitchen during load shedding to make coffee. Thanks again for everything.

Camera in the living room/relaxation area, fireplace area was a bit intimate, takes away your privacy and feels like you are being watched and monitored. Furthermore, everything was beautiful and well cared for.

Bed was so very comfy, warm shower and quiet atmosphere. Just some feedback: You can maybe just check up after rooms are cleaned. The one tablespoon that was provided in our room at the coffee station was used. Also, the bedside table on one side had some coffee mug stains on that I cleaned and the bedside tables were dusty. The warm water bottle provided in the room also did not have a closer with. It was nowhere in the room, I checked. And it was very cold that Friday night. Luckily, I packed my own warm water bottle. But nevertheless we enjoyed our stay and you will see us again.

The room was exactly what you'd expect from 'n klein dorpie. The power in our room was a little funky and we found some unwanted "guests" in our room. Overall, the lodge is really nice, but there are a few things that could be improved upon.

The location is good but I was disappointed in the room that I booked as on the photo and description, it was a 2 sleeper with 2 single beds and a couch. On arrival we found 3 beds and quite a cramped space. I did speak to the Owner or Manager and she was a bit upset with us that we were not happy with the 3rd bed and said the couch took the same space. However if you look at the photos it does not take the same space. It was ok to stay there but sadly the place is not being taken care of and is not the cleaniest inside or outside. It does look much better on the photos than in real life.
It was really very basic - I'm happy to give constructive criticism, but. It looked like you hadn't swept up leaves in front of the bedroom door for a long time. The carpet in the room was trampled. Loosen tape on the lamp wires. No provision of soap or shampoo. No toilet spray. You look down on a dirty swimming pool, have to call for a hairdryer whose wall plug falls out every few seconds and on top of that (I suspect it might be the neighbours') a barking dog at night and early in the morning. Sorry Christa - you were so kind and helpful.

Wykeham Lodge was more than we expected. You feel safe and it's convenient. Christa was great at accommodating us. It's also not too far from the Pearl, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch. We will use Wykeham again.

This is the second time we have visited Wykeham Lodge and the beauty of nature takes my breath away every time. The hostess was very helpful and friendly and let us check in before the appointed time. The breakfast was top notch - especially if you can look out over the garden while enjoying it. Will recommend it to others.
Bad service! Overpriced. Close to town so it is quite noisy at night. Lacking basic necessities like, fridge, microwave, cutlery. Not enough parking. No one to assist when help is needed. Other guests came in drunk and after Covid curfew and owner did nothing about it.

The minute we arrived we felt at home. Vicky the lodge manager looked well after us and it was nice to get to know her better in the cosy fire lit lounge on an evening with snow on the Worcester mountains
Nice kitchen for self-help with all necessary appliances. It's peaceful with a nice place to hang out and swimming pool. It's bad that the room we spent the night in was very cold and we had some difficulty closing or opening the front door. At least could use the sliding door at the back. Would recommend that small milk may be available for guests in fridge room. Other than that, the place is very nice!

Vicky and other staff very friendly and so helpful. The swimming pool was the greatest relief in the heat and we could even have a great time with other guests and have a barbecue. It was a really great experience and can be highly recommended.

Please install aircon in the room. Fan not sufficient. It's a major factor not to return to the lodge. Room temp ranged 35-45 and I couldn't sleep. Room dispensers not marked to indicate usage i.e. hand or body wash. Ants are all over the bathroom. Shower soap dish too high and not easily reachable.

The website's accommodations are always five star, but definitely not this one! Duvet can be replaced. Coffee Table: Milk powder is rock solid and coffee has gone off a long time ago!
Bathroom was not clean at the shower door. Black handles on the outside of the shower door that can be cleaned very easily. Guests walk around only with a towel around their body in the corridor +/- 18:00 on Saturday. Guests again only walk around with towels on Sunday +/- 09:00 during dinner and manager sees what is going on. Guests arrive back on Saturday night at 00:45 and second group at 01:40 with hellish noise and partying on the porch. I dialed the office number, but the phone just rang. Driver did not hear the noise. I went to silence the crowd, but only after 20 minutes did it stop. Place/Location is 100%, but the evening's stay was not pleasant and enjoyable at all.

It was extremely disappointing. I booked and paid the full amount during booking. When I arrived Vicki showed me the room. The curtain/blinding at the door was too small and one could see through it on either side. The door could be pushed open even though it was locked. So I would have to dress and undress in the bathroom and then sleep where anyone could watch me. There is no fridge. The fan is dirty and barely blows. Powdered milk in the room. I then asked her if there wasn't another room. She then thought and said that they were full, but she would move me to another room, because the people who would go there would not know about it. They did not book a specific room. In the next room it looks better on the surface, but the ceiling fan is barely blowing. Again no fridge and only powdered milk. The shower is dirty and the floor is full of mildew. I cringe to pour into it. I then asked her if she had a knife for me, because I would just eat something in the room, since I don't go out to restaurants alone as a woman in the evening. She then said that I was welcome to use the kitchen. In the kitchen was a bigger shock. It's dirty, stuff sits on the drip dry shelf and everything you touch feels sticky. I look to the right in the kitchen and there is a pile of dirty linen. It was a horrible experience and I would advise against anyone even thinking of staying there. The closets are dirty and piles of dirt lie inside as bugs bore through them. The extra pillow in the closet is torn to pieces in places. I have pictures of als if anyone wants to see them. They never see me again. Meanwhile, the people enjoy breakfast from a dirty kitchen. Thank goodness I didn't book breakfast. I know how dirty the kitchen is. When I drove the next morning Vicki asked if I slept well. Of course my answer was no. The parking area's lights shone into my room throughout the night and I got terribly hot. I can't open the door because it's on the porch and people walk by. Her reply to me was, "It's funny because it was actually cold last night".
The stay was not at all what we expected. The reception was friendly, but there were some aspects that bothered. The photos on the page are misleading. The bedside tables' tablecloths need a good wash, especially the tablecloth on which the TV stands. The children had crumbs in their bed. We were disappointed in our stay.
The guest rooms are furnished in an old house and the facilities are therefore not modern in all respects. Vehicles park safely behind gate right in front of the rooms. Bring your own soap and shampoo. Also bring your own headlamp / lighting if there may be power outages.
Some small details that could be looked at, but otherwise it was a really relaxed place. Loved that you could do your own thing and everything was available to be used. Thanks!

Firstly mosquitoes was a nuisance the owners didn't warn us to bring repellent. Owners not friendly, appearance not neat. Kitchen was full of flies due to dirty dishes. Powder milk for use a no. No soap shampoo conditioner in bathroom, it's standard for a lodge. Outside stairs very dangerous when wet. Not returning.
Practical for overnight accommodation only. Guests must know in advance of limited parking space. For this price, they can provide rusks and a variety of coffee or tea. Poor lighting for business travellers looking to work at night. WiFi was unstable.
Checking in was a breeze, there was secure parking which was great. The room had everything we needed for a short stay and would definitely stay here again as well as recommend this place to everyone.
We had a fabulous stay. It was fun. Enough space for the kids to play. The only challenge the kids had was they couldn't watch their their favourite Zeeworld channel, Channel 166 and 168. Otherwise it is a place to be.
Perhaps they can put in a small fridge/freezer in each room and an air conditioner, because it's quite hot and fans are not the most effective.
Everything 100%, parking is a small problem but only if you have a large vehicle.

I absolutely loved my stay. From the time I made the online payment I received welcoming, friendly correspondence from Christa. Didn’t feel like I was going to a lodge but staying over at friends instead. Check in and out was a breeze and the ladies were so friendly. I’d gladly go here again and I have and will refer everyone to Wykeham Lodge. Will definitely stay there again.

Welcome, warm atmosphere. Slept one night. Beautiful old house. Only recommendation might be a new mattress, a bit uncomfortable/slept through.
Except for the fact that the house is a historical building and something to see the lodge itself was not up to standard. The rooms was not clean and the furniture and curtains outdated.
It was awfully neat. The vehicle was parked behind a gate. We are very satisfied.
Disappointed from the word go, parking not enough for all the guests' cars, we were woken up early to get up to move cars because everyone was parked. Rooms cold and impersonal. Didn't get the rooms that were set out for me, I was told we would have a room with a fridge and microwave and a bit more space for the baby, the room was given to other guests without me being notified. We asked ahead of time if we could check in an hour ahead of time to get ready for a wedding I was promised that they would call me on Friday so call to confirm I didn't hear anything, on arrival was there are so many excuses it's just not true. The lodge is close to a racecourse, I think it would have been nice if guests knew that there was something going on an evening that you know there will be a rush of cars until very very late in the evening.
Parking problems inside premises if lodge is full, I had to park inside the driveway of the premises due to other vehicles taking up space on premises and wake up early the following morning to ensure I was not in the way of occupants wanting to leave.
Only one night, but it was enough to see that it's a peaceful, neat, clean place. Breakfast was spacious and tasty.
Neat room. However, parking area on site let us down. We had to park outside on the street because we came in late and the space left for us to park was too small. There was no question of sleep either. Strong winds were blowing in Worcester and things were falling/blowing around on the roof all night making it impossible for us to sleep and I'm not someone who normally has a problem sleeping in noise but even for me the noise on the roof was too bad to sleep. Apart from the lack of parking that was there for us and the noise on the roof everything else is good.
Think the beds can be replaced seeing that it has a dent in the middle. Otherwise is was great. Very clean and neat. Breakfast was value for money.

It would be quite convenient if there were a small bar fridge available in the residential units, especially in the hot weather and then one would not have to use only the shared kitchen facilities. Especially in the summer, a fan is not enough and you might want to think about air conditioning. Thank you that we are not limited with water use! We had a great stay!
Bed, bathroom, breakfast: if that's your need, Wykeham is the place. I had soap and shampoo and therefore did not report their absence.
Parking was a nightmare. Shower shows dirt between tiles. Looks bad. Curtain hooks are out. Hanging untidy and untidy. Hanging from curtain cords. Microwave was dirty inside. Communal bar fridge has no shelves in it. Everything is piled up. I will not stay there again. Upon my arrival I was just quickly shown here and there and left standing like that.

I just get upset again from before. We really didn't expect that. Nice pictures are shown, but when you get there, it's not like that. Beds were nicely made too, but that was all that caught the eye. Bathroom without carpets, I had to use towels to get up. Refrigerator without drawers. Kettle stands on a round table under the TV and it is so unsafe for children. We wanted to stay there for 2 nights, but had to decide to go home. Our holiday had to end like this. The place looks nice outside, but not inside. Never again.
We had a lovely stay in a lovely clean, pleasant and conveniently situated environment. The only drawback was the fact that the parking is rather awkward. People in other rooms sometimes park behind you - thereby parking you in. We came back fairly late in the evening and almost weren't able to park inside at all. We were extremely impressed with the correspondence and reminders received from Vicki. A most enjoyable stay.
The booking process was excellent. Fast, good service. However, the unit we were booked in was disappointing, among other things because of the following: the blinder curtain by the door's window was dirty; the shower mat was dirty with toothpaste stains on it; the chair and couch in the lounge area were full of dirty spots; the electrical wiring of the one bedside lamp was outside the mechanism with 'tape' - ugly and dangerous; the WiFi was hopeless. The onsite manager was not available after we checked in, although she said she would be there. We knocked and called and even walked up to the office, but no one was there. The next morning, when we wanted to leave, we had to look for her again. She emerged with bare feet and could not provide us with a statement because the 'printer' would not work. (She did, as promised, email us the statement). Her response to the complaint about the WiFi....'Oh, you know...Telkom....'. Definitely not worth a second visit.

Wykeham is tidy, although there were 3 of us, there were only cups etc. put out for 2. The taps by the sink were full of old toothpaste and the soap dish in the shower was full of old soap. There is secure parking, but not enough space for all the vehicles for the booked rooms, so we were told to get up again, after we were already in our pajamas and in bed, to move vehicles when someone else checked in. The unit above our residents was also a family and didn't necessarily make noise, but every footstep and movement they made normally echoed in the unit below, where we tried to sleep. So we lay down and listened to this until after 11 o'clock. So we were awake, every time these people went to the bathroom during the night. We wanted to sleep well in the morning, but since the upper unit's guests are up again at 6 o'clock, we had to lie awake again and listen to them move. Guests on our right could be clearly heard, every time they used the toilet it echoed in our room, even the conversation in the kitchen on our left we could follow word for word. Of course we were called up again at 7h15 to move vehicles so that guests could leave the premises. It was really unpleasant and a huge disappointment after we were so looking forward to the weekend with our little girl. I would still have swallowed the security and parking situation, but for R800 I just wanted to be able to get into bed peacefully at least at 9.30am and sleep until 8am the next morning.
The staff were in regular contact before our visit to share all our details, parking arrangements and other details with us. The service was excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean.

For breakfast we got individual fruit salad and yoghurt with our own coffee "plunger". It was very special for me. The hot breakfast is freshly prepared, the staff is very friendly. Our room was clean and tidy. One small "criticism": the sink is incredibly small, my legs and feet were soaking wet because there simply isn't enough space in the sink, and the water spills out. This is excellent value for money, the garden is beautiful, I would love to stay in a garden room next time.
General: Winter period 2017 is very cold and the room is only heated with one plate against the wall. Insulation and double glazing are not present in the spaces because the winter period only lasts 2-3 months. Fortunately, there were enough extra blankets and before first slept with one jug again. Was wonderfully warm in bed. We are very warm and the care is excellent. In the summer period it is an excellent location.

Lovely room even though Worcester is hot during summertime. The fridge could be defrosted more often.
It is difficult to write a meaningful review because the owner was on vacation and no room service or breakfast was provided because it was in the middle of the Christmas season. The owner gave a discount for that reason which was very kind. On the face of it, it looks like it could be a very nice, well-located place to stay if everything goes smoothly. I would definitely stay there again if needed.
I cannot give any negative commentary on the room or bathroom. Beautiful and clean and neat. Spacious. Good night's sleep. The parking is just very difficult and limited, but safe. We could sit on the patio and socialise. I just have to mention that the lovely old wooden chairs sit very comfortably, but they need restoration. Bit rickety and might give way. The reception was friendly.

The accommodation was comfortable, however the WiFi was way too slow to be useful and the TV was too small, being the old CRT style. The room we stayed in was comfortable and spacious. Parking was provided inside the property right outside the room, which was very convenient.

The lady who received us was wonderful and friendly. However, the room left much to be desired. The bedding was very old and smelled of sweat! The television and kettle entered the country with Paul Kruger! Light bulbs were dead, and the pathetic soap etc. in the bathroom is an insult to any guest. I would never recommend it to anyone.
We had a very nice stay and it was very peaceful.
The bathroom is in the room and just partitioned off. The partition only reaches the skirting board. So when the toilet is used it is very unpleasant. You hear and smell everything. There is no chair or water glasses in the room. The second bed has no bedside lamp. Neither of us felt like we could use the shower. It was too dirty and creepy. There is no cell phone or internet reception. Had to stand outside to call reception. Lady said the tower must be faulty, but the restaurant just next to the guest house had no problem. The only positive thing was that the room was nice and big. The beds sleep very badly. I later placed my pillows at the end of my foot to try to lie down better. The pillows on the other bed were just as uncomfortable.
Reception was a bit mixed.
The second room we got was clean. However, the experience with the first room was disappointing. The manager did apologize for the inconvenience.

Firstly, I am highly impressed by the professional way in which LekkeSlaap processed the accommodation application. There was constant and relevant feedback of information and no lack of assistance with advice. Our stay at Wykeham Lodge was excellent and the reception by the landlady made us feel right at home. Should Worcester and the surrounding area be on our program again, Wykeham will be our home again.

It is a lovely building that is slightly neglected. The curtains hung untidy and the room spoke of the cheaper rate. The parking opposite the room and within the premises was a plus.

A very neat, clean bed and breakfast facility that makes guests feel welcome and special from arrival to departure. On top of the fact that the bedroom/bathroom looks spotless and very tidy, it is also ensured in the small details (such as a chocolate on the pillow, sealed cookies with the coffee) that the customer feels at home. The breakfast is carefully and tasty served, with friendly individual service. Ilse is a wonderful hostess and an asset to Wykeham Lodge. A definite favorite that comes highly recommended!
The room was very comfortable with a nice balcony. It has a view of a neat garden with a very clean swimming pool. The hostess was friendly and helpful. The parking is safe, but quite tight. We slept well and would recommend Wykeham Lodge.
