Xventures is suitable for an overnight stay. They are pet friendly and there is plenty of room for the dogs to run around. They also have walking paths where you can go for a walk with them. There is also a pool to cool off in and slides for the kids. The mosquitoes are only quite bad in the evenings, because it unexpectedly rained a lot for the month of December. But the rooms have aircon. It's just a bit out of town, so you have to drive about 10 minutes into town to buy food, but they provide barbecue kits if you wanted to barbecue.
Beds have feather pillows and top sheets. The caravan is clean and neat with its own braai and wash basin. Enjoy a stroll around the picturesque little dam. Thoroughly enjoyed the live guest singer.
We were surprised with the grass green lawns, friendly service and everything you need when pitching a tent. Near the n1 so was an easy turn off and pretty good directions.

We slept here for one night in a caravan. very peaceful atmosphere on a farm, lots to do for a family with children. Facilities are clean and staff very friendly.
Perfect place to stay to separate the long drive to BFN or Pretoria. They go out of their way to assist you. Accommodation is perfect and true value for money. Little shop has everything you need so don't bring anything with. Just a grid to braai on as the ones the provide is old and a bit sticky. In short, the only place we will stay going forward.
This was the perfect place for me to stay over on my journey to Cape Town. I set up my hammock, got the fire started and had a lovely evening with a glass of whiskey. They do sell wood and fire lighters, as well as beer, meat and other snacks. I would definitely recommend this place to people who are open to new experiences.

Our first impression of XVentures was not a good one. We happened to be travelling in the rain and the GPS does not direct you to the correct location and you land up and the airport. We had to turn around after driving past the place and after finding the place, its actually not far from the main road we travelled. The staff however are very friendly and helpful, you can call or whatsapp the number with details you receive from website and they direct you and are even willing to go the extra mile in the rain to come fetch you at the railway. We did however manage without them having to fetch us, but the road to the place was a scary site. Almost dark, short gravel road but with the amount of rain one wasn't sure if you will fall in a ditch. However, apparently this was the first time in a very long time they have had so much rain. You do not park your car directly in front of your unit but just across a little bridge if I can call it that. The kids and parents share one room. What I liked about this place is that they have a stove, basin, fridge and freezer and microwave and TV and you are able to bring some food along to prepare on the stove, just remember to bring some oil along. Although, there is also a little snoepie for some things to buy, i was not there, maybe they have, so not sure what you can get. But there is no restaurant to have brekkie before you leave, so keep this in mind and plan accordingly. There is a bath and a shower in the unit we got, so i could bath my young daughter which was nice. The shower had good pressure and a good shower head and I had a good shower. Beds are small but comfortable and there is also an aircon for temperature comfort. All in all, this room was very spacious, with a table to sit at and eat as well and also a little porch outside to sit ay and enjoy a smoke. They even had a private braai area on your porch which is cool if you are not doing just a quick over night sleep.

We were very warmly received. The place is clean and very tidy. Between the trees and a wonderful forest holiday atmosphere.
I would really recommend XVentures to any traveler through the Karoo. Especially for families with children. They are friendly, costs are appropriate, and the grounds have so much for kids to do after a long day in the car. Swimming pool was a nice escape in the heat! I recommend them to all my friends and family.
How wonderful it was when we stopped at X-Ventures after a long drive and the wonderful facilities to keep our little one busy and stretch their legs - climbing frames, pool and great activities. The air conditioner in the room was also a great relief in the hot day and everything was clean and tidy, hostess and host helpful and friendly. Thank you for going out of your way to accommodate us!
Will stay there again for sure. It was so cute to sleep in an old caravan. There were destinations that the owners had already visited around the 1 door. Cozy and well planned. Incredibly beautiful swimming pool with a self-built slide. Very original! It's also just off the road - easy and quickly back on track the next day. Very cute!

The swimming pool at the caravan is excellent. Would recommend the place for day visitors who'd like to swim and enjoy a drink.
The caravan power plugs may be modified to be rain proof. There was no backup for the water pressure pump when the power was out. I was able to cleanse with about three drops of water only the most necessary. I would suggest that the owners at least inform guests about possible load shedding schedules and that there will be no backup for water. Then a guy can plan around it. Other than that it was pleasant.
We were received very kindly and my little girl immediately made friends with the owner's sons. Had to knock so he could come to sleep. For a water scarce area I had a quick and hot shower and enjoyed a good night's rest. Feel free to stop there and Jaco will make you feel right at home. They have beer on ice in the canteen.

The bathrooms were always nice and clean with hot water in the shower. I never felt unsafe. The tuck shop is also handy for buying small things that are needed. Will definitely keep this in mind for next time.
XVentures is good value for money.
This was the second time we stayed at X-Ventures and the service is still the same. We were greeted by Jaco after closing time of X-Ventures with a smile and friendliness. We booked a three sleeper caravan as we only just would've stayed for the night. He evaluated our situation and actually gave us a two bedroom flatlet keeping in mind we had our mom with us. This was superb service and we will always make X-Ventures our “halfway” stop between CPT and PTA.
Service is top notch and friendliness very good.
Were welcomed and everything was well explained, even the emails I sent before our arrival were answered promptly and professionally. We arrived after sunset and left in the morning before sunrise, so I can't really expand on other facilities. Our primary goal was to get clean, safe accommodation close to the main road, which is exactly what XVentures offered us. See you again soon.
Just what you need for an overnight stay. Ablution facilities very clean. Unfortunately, some of the cutlery, glasses and other kitchen equipment were not very clean.

We spent the night in one of the caravans. It was neat and clean. Ablution blocks also neat and clean. Reception friendly and helpful. It is a very cute place and we will definitely want to visit there again. The little shop there is also very convenient with the essentials which helps that if you come from the north, you don't need to drive into town. Not only do we think that it is an ideal place to spend the night, but it would also be great to relax for a few days if you just want to rest and enjoy nature. Would recommend XVentures.
When we got there, we were received very kindly, we felt right at home. We were surprised to find towels and milk there. For that price you can stay anytime. Very clean and comfortable. No directions at N1 to get there.
Just off the main road which was very convenient. The owners made an effort to make sure our group was close to each other. We used one pitch for the camper van and two of the XVentures caravans. Once the day visitors are out for the day, it is very quiet. The caravans were very well maintained inside and clean. The day was bitterly hot, but by 02:00 we started scrambling to get warmer. Luckily there were winter blankets in the cupboards. The snack was a pleasant surprise, seeing as the summer sun drove one to something cool and the ice creams did just the trick. The prices are dirt cheap. The little ones really enjoyed the play park and the volleyball was a pleasant pastime for the older ones. The one shower curtain is slightly intimidating, but given how quiet the facilities are, it's not a big problem either. The facilities are clean and tidy.
We arrived late and everything we needed was available. Hospitality and cleanliness were much appreciated. The place is very beautiful and a lot to do. It's a shame that we only stayed one night. Will definitely work in a few extra days there next time.

Just want to mention that if you're driving from Beaufort West via N1 you have to turn off to the right at the sign for Kleinhoewes. Then you don't need to drive all the way to Johannesburg to find the place.

We received very friendly service upon our arrival and they were willing to help if we needed something even after the time the shop had already closed. For an overnight stay it had been perfect for us and the shade net under which we could camp provided extra protection from the cold that descended at night. There were braai facilities and wood available. We will use their service again in the future should it be necessary. Value for your money!

We were on our way to the Cape on holiday and decided to sleep over half way because my little girl gets very difficult if you drive too far. We just rented a caravan, the place is very simple, but still clean and tidy and everything you need is in the caravan, from a kettle to a microwave and fridge. The pool is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. On our way back from the Cape, we slept there again. I will definitely stay there again in the future.

At a good place (set up, decor to room, facilities), but the room had roaches. The one night of sleep over was not good. I raised it with the owner who then fumigate, and gave me Doom to use. The roaches remained there. This needs to be attended to.
It's our second time as guests at XVentures and as usual we once again had a great time. The heat was exhausting, but the pool made up for it! All we think can be improved is something about the mosquitoes! Oh dear they ate us up. But otherwise we will definitely see them again!

XVentures was not what I had expected, it is rustic but quiet, peaceful despite the main railway line between JHB and CT and the N1 being so close by. I would definitely book in there again should the need arise as my husband and I had a peaceful, restful sleep. The owner's parents were very pleasant and courteous towards, offered to make us a pizza for supper and a delicious breakfast. The owner himself came around and introduced himself ensuring that the park lights were on.

The drivers are pleasant. We only stayed one night, and wouldn't just stay another night. XVentures is not bad, the outdoor living area is very cute with lots of activities and well maintained, but the cottage we stayed in is in dire need of an upgrade. The curtains and bedding are very neglected, the towels are already a few guests too old, the kettle has cockroaches underneath, and the apartment smells terribly of mothballs. I realize that it is located in the Karoo, and that drought is a reality, but the old olive groves are dead and the plastic from the plants that are in the tunnels litters the whole country. On arrival it really creates a sloppy impression. For a quick, convenient overnight stay, XVentures really has the potential to be a very convenient overnight resort, it just needs a lot of attention. However, thank you very much that we were able to stay.

Met aankoms lyk dit na so ou vaal en eenvoudige plekkie maar ons was lekker verras! Die mense daar is so vriendelik en behulpsaam! Het ons iets gevra en dit was vir ons gegee of hulle het gaan soek na dit as dit nie in die winkeltjie beskikbaar was nie. Die swembad en speel-area was mooi skoon en die kinders het dit vreeslik geniet. Die meubels en beddegoed en toerusting was alles skoon en wat mens nodig het vir so vinnige oorslapie. Ek sal enige tyd weer daar stop en almal aan beveel om hulle te probeer.
The description should please adjusted to say that it is not a double bed in the caravan (it's something between a single and three-quarter bed) and that the mattress is rock hard. After a long time on the road in the car from Cape Town, we really just wanted to get a good night's rest before traveling to Klerksdorp the next day, but that didn't happen. Also, the management gave us wrong directions and we drove past the place at 10.30pm and had to turn around and drive back and look for the place. I myself will not sleep there again and will not simply recommend it to anyone.

I would definitely recommend XVentures to any vacationer. This is the third time we use it as our overnight stop on the way to Cape Town and it won't be the last time. The facilities are very clean and tidy and the resort managers are particularly friendly and they go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

This is what I call a budget stay. We like to travel, but can't afford the high accommodation costs. Therefore we usually drive through the night to reach our destination. We don't look for luxuries, just clean, affordable places, and that's exactly what we got here.

The caravans are dirty. Need to be upgraded. The caravan we stayed in was too close to the bathrooms blocks and the drains was leaking causing a sewage smell. Had to shower in the dark. No shower head in ladies shower. What the pictures portray and what is in reality is chalk and cheese. Does not match up. Understanding it's a night stop over etc. Imagine staying there for longer periods. Never going to happen. Caravan could not lock.

Awesome, Julia and Jaco are the perfect hosts and really went out of their way to make our overnight stay perfect, Jaco even repaired my son's bicycle which pedal had broken off after he fell off it during our holiday. XVentures is the perfect holiday destination, especially for children, I barely saw my children during the afternoon and morning we spent there, they enjoyed the extensive play areas and swimming pools so much that they didn't want to leave. We will definitely be visiting XVentures again.

It is truly a child's playground dream. The man and woman are very friendly and always ready to help with anything, just the trains and traffic that bothered a bit and the cleaner needs to do a little better job with the dishes. The cutlery was dirty.

Poor directions. Unpleasant. Against the railway line and the noise of the heavy traffic during the night means that you don't really rest. There is no security.
Xventures really is too good to be true. The accommodation and facilities were fantastic. One really only needs to take food and clothes. Refrigerator in the caravans, all necessary facilities such as stove, crockery, cutlery. I advise any person who just wants to get away and relax in the fresh karoo air to go to Xventures. It's 9 km outside Beaufort West and there is even a shop that has the basic necessities so you don't need to drive into town.
We received more than we paid for - 2 couples who each wanted to spend the night in a caravan at a very special rate were accommodated in a very neat well equipped unit at the same rate. Where else do you get such service! We will stop at XVentures again on our way to Cape Town. The site layout is interesting and informal.

We had a great time at a peaceful and quiet place with friendly people. It is especially suitable for children. The braai facilities are good and the apartment is fully equipped.
We would not recommend this place to anyone. This caravan is dirty and smelly. The dirt drips down the fridge. The ablution is just as dirty. The doors don't close and the toilets don't have seats. We drove immediately and went looking for an alternative place to sleep.

It was very nice to be able to relax there after the long drive. Dawid and his wife were very hospitable and willing to help if we needed anything. Very nice place, will definitely stay there again. Everything was neat and clean. Can recommend it.

We arrived in the late afternoon just as the day visitors were leaving. The hostess is available all the time and specially turned on the water slide again just for us so that my children could enjoy themselves after a long day in the car. The accommodation is not luxurious, but still beautiful, very neat, clean and comfortable. Ideal for one night's sleepover, but also to stay a few days with children.
Rooms smell like one cigarette after another has been smoked. Trash was not even cleaned from the previous visitors.
Very friendly and hospitable service. The recreation area is still being developed, but promises to be good in the future. Unit is clean, beds very comfortable, but the bathroom way too small and impractical. Maintenance of the buildings must also receive attention.
The ventilation is very poor. Gas cylinder inside the unit. Bathroom very poor.
We had a great stay, originally going in caravans first, but upon our arrival decided to stay in a chalet which was much more comfortable and cooler than caravans. Facilities are good and the play area and pool are really cute and a lot of effort is made to make it neat and nice. It's only the day visitors who were a problem, I feel they take over everything and make too much noise with music and the people who stay there and pay don't always have the courage to use the facilities. Cafe is well equipped and definitely a "go-to" for people with children.
Reception very friendly. Quiet farm atmosphere. The men's bathrooms were not clean and without toilet paper. I would prefer a top sheet instead of a light blanket.
My 90 year old mother was with me and she enjoyed it just as much. She tells everyone about the friendly owners. Will sleep there again.

We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it. Julia and Dawid fabulous people and made our stay very comfortable.
We decided to use our own pillows after seeing lice in their pillows. It is also a disturbance when day visitors barbecue for the day right in front of your place of residence.
It is a wonderful overnight stay. There is plenty for the kids to do to get rid of all that excess energy from a long drive. It is clean and tidy. The people are very helpful.

Although we arrived at our destination later than arranged, we were warmly received and Julia went out of her way to welcome us and make us feel at home. The facilities were very tidy and there was no noise ─ blissful after a long journey from Pretoria. Thank you very much!
We were privileged to have other children (young and teens) at the site so did not really see our 5. That's a holiday! Jaco: anytime and all the time the extra mile! The foofie slide is for all ages! The paintball was a highlight.
We were only there for one night. We slept very well and the people were very friendly and helpful. I recommend it for a night or 2. It is ideal for school tours or camps.

This accommodation is ideal for an overnight stay and has plenty to do for children.
After a hot day on the way from Kimberley it was lovely to unpack at XVentures and be able to buy a cold beer from the shop, a treat on a hot day. Everything was very tidy but the mosquitoes moved in with us, so pack your mosquito repellent. Will definitely use their accommodation again.

Julia and her son Jaco went out of their way to make us comfortable. Was a pleasant night of sleepovers.
It was very nice there and the people are extremely friendly, but I am a very neat person and the kitchen was really creepy. It might not have been dirty by other people's standards, but I didn't eat well. I washed all my cutlery and plates first before I used anything. The rest of the place was perfect.
We do not have the words to describe how restful our accommodation was at Xventures. This is definitely a little piece of magic and beauty in the middle of the harsh Karoo. What you guys have done with this piece of ground is amazing, something we thoroughly enjoyed and something that we will definitely do again if in the area. You have used your knowledge and imagination to create this with your hard work, sweat and lots of soul, catering for everyone from the restful to the adventurous, from the young to the old. We will definitely post some of the many pictures that we took and will make sure that our friends see them so that they too, if in the area, can experience the magic that can come from the Karoo.
For overnight rest and relaxation it is always worth it for the traveller.
My wife and I were first in a fully equipped caravan and then in an air-conditioned apartment. It was unbeatable! There are two swimming ponds, boats on the pond, handy barbecue areas. The good discipline applied in a nice but firm manner was worth mentioning. The owners went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. I highly recommend "Xventures"! I can't wait to spend the night there again. Many thanks for the great arrangements by "LekkeSlaap" and "Xventures!". Will definitely stay there again! It's a real home! Thank you very much!
We were pleasantly surprised with the accommodation. Where I initially wanted to pick up takeaways in town, we decided to grill ourselves instead. It was truly a pleasant experience with the kindest hosts.
The location (just outside Beaufort West) is perfect for a stopover.
Real farm atmosphere. Julia, was a good hostess and stands ready to ensure that everything is right for you. Comfortable place to sleep if you drive far. I will definitely use the place again. Excellent service with a smile.
All basic necessities available and close to nearest town. Good and friendly welcome from owner. Als is comfortable, a caravan with more than we expected.
We were warmly received and I definitely recommend it. The place is beautiful, with the most beautiful scenery and view of the mountains. The people there are so friendly and helpful. Everything was 100% ready when we got there. I recommend staying there anytime. Never again will we drive past there without spending the night there.

Very well located on main road between Western Cape and Pretoria. This will always be my stopover in the future. Everything was great with absolutely no complaints!

Unit 3 is an open-plan unit with a double bed and 3 single beds. There is a bathroom fitted with a shower and a bath and a kitchenette equipped with a fridge and microwave.
There are 3 different accommodations options, 3 self-catering units, 1 Equipped Caravan and 6 Camping Sites.
There are 6 camping areas that can hold caravans and or tents, and 3 fixed fully Equipped Caravan for guests who want to camp and do not have the necessary equipment. The camping area has clean ablution blocks for men and ladies with 2 hot water showers in each. Play parks for kids, 2 swimming pools with water slides, green grass, putt-putt, mini soccer, rugby, volleyball field, table tennis and paintball can be arranged by request.
The 3 self-catering units can sleep 4 to 7 guests. Each with the necessary linen in bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen, stove, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and everything else you may need in the kitchen like pots and crockery and cutlery. Each unit has a double bed and single beds. Of the 3 units, 2 are fitted with a shower and bath, while the other 1 only has a shower.
There is a small shop for basic necessities on site. Card facilities available.
